If you want wide open spaces with lovely rolling hills and nobody around to spoil the views, then this is where you should be. Abundant footpaths criss-cross the countryside and there are plenty of pubs to keep you in food and drink. Also, close proximity to the coast, so you can have a variety of experiences. Prices are good and the east is dry, compared with the west. Don't expect big hills and mountains, but if you want a sense of isolation, you can find it. Great for dog-walking.

Part of the Viking way walk from Belchford to Scamblesby and back. Starting off the main road l.h.s just before the Blue Bell Inn coming from Belchford crossroads and following the signposts to Scamblesby, then bear left back on yourself to Belchford. A loop of a walk covering five miles. Easy to do and takes 1-3/4 hrs. Great views and a beer when you finish 👍😎

We stayed at Kenwick Hall and Spa at Louth. The resort was first class we could not fault it. It was the weather that spoilt it rain, rain and more rain and thick fog all the time,we didn't go too far as I had spent 3weeks plus few days in hospital and I needs around 6 month's til I'm near to a semi recovery. Only let down I couldn't get a manicure or pedicure which were the only treatments I could have and no swimming or jacuzzi! We had to delay our visit due to being dashed into hospital. I knew Lincolnshire as I lived there for 4 years. But I had never been to this part. Louth was very busy and parking was difficult. I would recommend Kenwick Hall Spa to anybody, the breakfast which was included in our deal was exceptional. Only thing to remember is to take bottled water with you as it has a chlorine task to it even my mother-in-law remarked on it. There isn't alot to do at the moment things pickup at the end of April. But we are all relaxed and rested. We will definitely visit again in September time and it is a dog friendly resort too we have a...

Beautiful rolling countryside and quaint villages. A vast area almost totally untouched by the 20th century. Sure, it doesn't have the obvious charm of the Highlands, the Lake District or the New Forest, but dig deeper... the area has over 200 lost villages and medieval settlements, many still visible if you know where/how to look. The place is teeming with history. Visits to Louth, Caistor and Alford are delights in themselves, honest proper Lincolnshire not the chocolatebox theme park tourist hotspots found dotted around the Cotswolds. If you like wildlife, you don't need to look too hard to see Kites wheeling overhead, Kestrals hunting by the roadside, or foxes, deer and more roaming the fields and hedge rows. You will never truly get to know the Lincolnshire Wolds, but it's tranquillity will perhaps allow you to get to...
