A lovely Suffolk beach that's mainly shingle but has strips of sand for a bit of variety. It's generally one of the quieter beaches, especially if you walk a few minutes up or down the coast. Thorpness is a reasonable walk to the south and Dunwich Heath and Dunwich are not much further to the north. They all have tea shops to restore energy levels for the walk back. Or you can make a circular walk via the surrounding countryside. Of course, it's impossible to ignore the two nuclear power stations - they are now very much a part of Sizewell. It's a dog friendly beach (but do take some poop bags and clear up after your dog). There is a pay car park, but it's only about £1 for a...

I love sizewell beach fond memories of going there with my twin Jane who i.lost last year just before 70 th birthdays. We used walk mist weekends from Leiston. Obviously before sizewell A built. Many fishing boats an my Aunt had one of the beach huts nr sizewell hall end. There was sand pit there which we loved. Before we married my husband an I used rifle shoot on the range where Sizewell B was built. Managed a 303 rifle. The beach is flatter than aldeburgh an Thorpeness and there is sand when tide us out! The water nit very clear. There is a nice cafe there and nice grassy walks by power station. Beware...

Lovely beach, never packed with people. Okay, so you do run the risk of radiation poisoning, but a short course of iodine is really all that is necessary......

That's a lie. It's safe there and the beach is mostly a shingle, dogs are welcome. Car park that is cheap, little hut that sells food and drinks next to the car park. Nice walks up and down. You really could spend your day here and have plenty to be getting on with!

Will definitely go back as we had a...

This beach is a lovely place to pass away an afternoon. The power station nearby has a visitors centre and well worth a visit. The beach cafe is great with tea & Coffee all reasonably priced. The golden sand on a hot summers day is wonderful but the sea is always a challenge for swimmers but is shelves reasonably and so you have to walk a fair way before its really deep. Look out for seals and dolphins always about off shore

Beautiful piece of Suffolk coast, regardless of your views about nuclear power. Good views of the old Maunsell forts (complete with resident seagulls) good wheelchair access with boarded areas leading to viewpoints. Info boards about the wildlife in the area. Nice amount of parking, lovely clean toilets, both disabled and abled. Great little cafe that's reasonable in price and serves a good choice of drinks and snacks.
