We recently stayed at Ye Olde Cellar Door at Adgestone Vineyard. The owners, Russ and Philippa were busy preparing for the upcoming holiday season, however they were so friendly and made us feel very welcome.

The area is great, with footpaths for exploring the local area, Brading is a 15min walk where we found a local convenience shops, pubs and restaurants. The vineyard overlooks the rolling landscape down across Sandown and out to sea.

The accommodation is beautiful, highlighting the owners artistic flare and personality. Although a modest space, the area has been carefully considered and it had everything we needed, the kitchen was well equipped for the few evening meals we prepared there. From the hand made oak barrelled table, we enjoyed watching the large ships across the bay, whilst we played cards drinking Adgestone's delicious wines.

At the top of the Vineyard there is an adorable Shepherds Hut for a simpler holiday, next time we will pack lighter and stay there if we can as it looked delightful with fantastic aspect!

We have been on a couple of tours of English vineyards and found the Adgestone Vineyard tour to be ahead of the rest, being informative and interesting, adding humour to make it memorable. We sampled some of the wines at the end of the tour in their beer/wine garden and enjoyed watching the goats jump and chase each other around their enclosure.

We had a lovely holiday and without a doubt, Russ and Phillipa's Adgestone Vineyard was the highlight of our time...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at ‘ye old cellar door’ located in the fun and romantic setting of Adgestone vineyard . The accommodation was comfortable, finished to an excellent standard, and very clean. We were impressed with the design and engineering that had gone into building this place and the bespoke furniture added to its charm.

We notice that other reviews have complained about the fact there is only a microwave and a 1 ring induction hob. We managed to cook from the hob every night of our stay and found it a very easy to use. We just made sure we googled some one pot meals and then using some microwave grains/ rice pouches on the side. (A bigger pan might have made this even easier). The hosts were also on hand to suggest a range of great local places to eat out.

Russ & Flip (the host) were very accommodating, happy to assist in any way. The only issue we had was a broken plug which was fixed by Russ in about 5 minutes!

We also enjoyed touring the vineyard, cellars and tasting the range of wine on offer- we couldn’t resist purchasing some to take some home. It was also lovely to be able to walk around the vineyard after it had closed to day visitors, or sit out in the garden with the animals. We especially loved making friends with the goats.

Adgestone vineyard was a great base for exploring the Isle of Wight (this was our first visit to the IOW) and I’m sure we will be back.

Thank you so much...

Visited to buy wine and do the wine tasting, so I was happy to spend £60+. Never, ever, have I met ruder people. I waited to be served at the bar. The man serving just walked away to speak to another member of staff about the plants! Came back and grumpily said, yes, what? Asked him if he could recommend a wine similar to Chablis. He didn't understand what I was asking for. Asked me if I was doing the wine tasting! I said yes at 12.30. He said why at that time! He then walked off again to see why that time and returned and said, "what do you want?" I repeated. I ended up with a mediocre table wine comparable to a supermarket own brand! Don't even get me started on the food! Asked another staff member politely, excuse me etc, where the menus were, he said "outside" in a gruff voice as if I should have known! Don't waste your time or money on a place where customer service and nice manners don't exist. The rest of the Isle of Wight is where to spend your holiday money where the lovely vendors were such a friendly, happy lot. If I could give zero stars, I would. Also, Sir, you may wish, as I'm sure you will, see my history of giving reviews where I've made them, I'm not a moaner, not a liar, not fussy but a true reviewer who cannot believe the rudeness we received, so much so we got in the car and drove off, leaving the wine on the table and the wine tasting in...

When a flight feels like too much… take a ferry! ⛴ 📍 Isle of Wight See: No trip to the Isle of Wight is complete without a trip to see the Needles. Whether it’s on the cable car or via RIB, these are awe inspiring works of art by Mother Nature and not to be missed! Eat: if there’s one place you need to put on your list as a ‘must do’, it’s dining at The Hut in Colwell Bay. The views are beautiful, the cocktails are top notch, the seafood is all fresh. Make sure you order their baked Alaska ice cream cone 🍦! @thehutcolwell Do: there’s SO much to do on the Isle of Wight but if you’re child free, I’d recommend a stop at Adgestone Vineyard. It’s a front runner in the English Sparkling Wine bizz and it’s worth boing one of their ‘Grape to Glass’ Experiences. @adgestonevineyard ⠀⠀⠀ Save this for UK trip inspo and feel free to ask any questions in the comments!⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀───────────────── #visitbritain #uk #uktravel #ukstaycation #hotel #visitlondon #uktrip #travelblogger #uktravelblogger #londonrestaurant #dateidea #thingstodo #isleofwight #visitisleofwight #lovegb ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Fun place to visit for all ages. The kids enjoyed seeing the goats and the cute free roaming chickens, the adults appreciated the humorous presentation and free tasting of hot salsa and berry jam as well as several samples of wine and spicy liquor. I did not like any whites, either too dry or sweet for me, my daughter loved the full body red, they were out of the blue sparkling wine. Lovely shop, cosy wine tasting area. Good size vineyard right by a large parking lot.

Had a really lovely afternoon chilling with my daughter listening to live music by Black Daniels Duo. The setting is absolutely gorgeous and was completed by beautiful warm sunshine. We had a lovely glass of wine each with pate, ciabatta, Nacho's and a cheese platter for lunch, beautifully presented and very tasty especially the Arson Fire chilli jam. All in all a really lovely relaxing afternoon.
