Bamburgh Lighthouse was built by Trinity House in 1910 to guide shipping both passing along the Northumberland coast and in the waters around the Farne Islands. It was extensively modernised in 1975 and is now monitored from the Trinity House Operations and Planning Centre in Harwich.

I absolutely loved the beach and had a walk up to the lighthouse, only downside being restricted parking . to stop motorhomes etc I think, I asked someone to reverse my car into a small space with logs all the way around it was quite tight for a huge estate car! But had a nice walk and there are benches along the top with a lovely view of the castle.

Well worth a visit to the castle and grounds. Lots to see in side and a lovely beach to walk on.parking available and good views inside and out on a clear day. Disabled access and parking.

Walked round it in wind and rain with foam blowing up from sea. Very dramatic. Nice sandy beach walks from there Photo Is view to castle from near lighthouse. Can't go inside lighthouse

It is not possible to go inside the lighthouse which was disappointing. There was a padlock on the gate. So I walked round the wall and sat looking out to sea. So incredibly peaceful, I didn't...

Amazing place to visit I think it is the last remaining roundhouse in the country too! Highly recommend as I have been with my lad many times! Staff are great too and very knowledgeable...
