I lived on the Braunstone Avenue facing the swings that used to be on the park....LOVED IT!!!! I can remember looking out my bedroom window at a fantastic snow covered wonderland at Christmas (we're talking late 1960's!)....My Grandparents lived alittle further down the Avenue facing the paddling pool (it was a very large one then, not the half of one it ended up as)...in the summer, we all went across with our trunks and towels and it was packed with people of all ages!!...We also used it as a boating pond to sail our yachts and clockwork boats...HAPPY DAY'S!!....My Mother could not understand why we played football (curby) in the road, when there was a massive park in front of us?...Kids!!
