Stunning landscape and beautiful place to picnic and have fun by the moorland river, however our experience was completely dominated by a large relatively young crowd who had music blaring out, accosting a large section of the initial landing area by the bridge… still the music was accompanied by lots of parental screaming n shouting… that said this review is about the venue.. which is simply stunning… just hope if you’re visiting then you land with the...

I don’t like to tell to many people about this place, but unfortunately the internet and social media have ruined those secret sacred gems.

I spend many happy childhood summer days playing in the river here and catching minnows with a net and bucket. As I’ve got older I found it to be a place of peace and reflection.

Very very beaitiful. We dis get lost and go the wrong way a few times 😂 but once you get there it is really lovely. I like how the river is right next to the walk so if you get to hot like we defiently did then you can just go in the river. Theres quite a bit of parking around the area. Perfect place for picknicks. Very relaxing. Love it...

Lovely area for picnic and walk. We parked here - free parking and walked to nearby Withypool for lunch then back again. Lots of scenic views of woodland, streams and some wildlife. It’s a bit of journey as we drove from Ilfracombe but well worth it for a nice day out.
