Great little quality zoo, not very big but worth a visit. All the staff, from the lass on reception to all the keepers were welcoming, warm, helpful, friendly and very knowledgeable. The animals looked in good condition and their enclosures were very well maintained. Various inhabitants: meerkat, porcupine, emu, otter, skunk, pot bellied pigs, armadillo and more. The zoo has shop, café with additional outdoor seating, loo, large car park. You can buy bags of pig food in the shop for £1. Good range of refreshments for sale in the café including homemade cakes. I did learn a lot from the knowledgeable keepers - who knew porcupines had 30,000 quills?! I got to stroke both a ferret and a skunk - now that's not a sentence I ever thought I'd be saying! Very proactive zoo proffering regular talks and timed feeding slots to watch; keeper experience days; animal sponsorships; animal photography experiences. Closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays. I rated it 4 not 5 star because I felt, for the size of it, £12 was a bit much entrance fee. I know everywhere has huge running costs these days, but there is no senior's price point. All in all, glad I went, prob spent about an hour ish here, mostly watching the lovely otter family and the ever...

Quite possibly the best zoo experience I've had. Been to cotswolds, London, Yorkshire, Bristol zoos, massive and corporate. This is a husband and wife gig who are both clearly passionate about animals. Staff were all enthusiastic including two teenagers who were on work experience and are in on Easter Sunday. It's a small zoo, perhaps better to think of it an incredible rescue centre. Check website for list of animals. We had a lovely lady spend a good hour with us telling us about each animal (by nickname) and as it was quiet she let my girls feed and stroke a few. We ended up donating on top of the entry fee. Every animal looked healthy and engaged unlike the sad animals at other zoos. A read find. If kids aren't engaged you could wizz round this zoo in 5 minutes. We spent 3 hours, as did everyone else I noticed there. Parking available, shop wasn't expensive or in your face. Drfinately going back. You can pay to feed the otters. You can pay to sit in the meerkat and lemur enclosure and feed them and have them climb all over you. Great trip to see some animals. Clearly not in it for the money, they obviously cover cost of feeds, enclosure buildings and veterinary bills. Thank you for a lovely...

If you’re local or in the area, this small zoo will have you walking away feeling proud to have experienced what a British zoo is all about. The owners are front and centre, the staff are all animal lovers, and happy to talk to you and share their knowledge. We’ve been to the big zoo’s, which is like going to a big theme park. You see a lot, although learn little. We had a party of five, and spent a good three hours there, talking to the keepers, seeing the animals up close and watching a young ‘zoo-keeper for the day’, get used as a climbing frame for meerkats, stroke them and make them laugh, before feeding skunks in the next hour. We fed otters, learnt about animal group dynamics and bought some well priced gifts from the shop, at sensible prices, including coffee o the way in. It looks small, it’s not, it’s boutique. I’d visit again to see how the animals have developed and learn more about the work they’re doing to make sure their guests are looked after and cared for in the most sympathetic way they can. Thank you all for sharing your work with us and spending the time to talk to us about the animals and their stories. X
