The first time we visited this tarn was in autumn. We considered it a romantic and picturesque place. Not least as Beatrix Potter and her husband, apparently liked to walk there in the evening. We took the route from the playground in Near Sawrey and walked down to it from the fellside field. We were surprised that it was not more widely publicised as a beautiful place to visit.
