So much is packed in to this small and very friendly place, it's incredible, packed with original era items and superb diaplays. Big thanks to Mike Osterly who related his unique experiences with such effortless joy. They even had a folder on the Bethnal Green tube disaster.

If you like local history it’s worth a visit . For military history this is a gem with original British uniforms shown back hundreds of years . Ticket prices are not extortionate either . Opening hours are limited though, so check the times

My parents and my husband and I went on the first Ghost and Folklore walk last night and it was brilliant. Paul and Ollie were really informative, friendly and funny. The walk itself was lovely. I learned a lot of new things about Purfleet. The centre itself is FULL of historical artefacts and information. You could spend hours in there. We plan to go back soon, and on every tour they have haha. Thanks for having us and being an asset to the community with volunteering your time to keep this place going.

Book a tour! You will...

This is quite frankly a remarkable museum hidden away in in the small village of Purfleet. It's absolutely packed to the rafters with memorabilia from wars, local history and various other unrelated entities. We used the visit to kill off a spare hour but ended up needing at least 2.5 to complete it and had to come back on another occasion. The only criticism I would make is the lack of opening hours. I guess it comes down to volunteer availability but it would be nice to see it open Saturday's. The price is well...
