Read moreHad a day out with the family today and had a lovely time. The weather was amazing and so was the company. There are several car parks with several disabled parking which is free for blue badge holders and £2 for the day for everyone else which is very reasonable. As for the park, it's very clean and tidy. Plenty of bins and loads of benches for you to rest on. Several play areas for the children to enjoy with climbing frames, swings etc. We went to the on site café and something to eat and it's nothing to write home about. The food was okay but definitely NOT worth the price we paid. The drinks were okay but delivered about 20 minutes before the food. They are dog friendly as long as they are on leads and behave themselves. It's a bit cramped inside but there is plenty of outside seating. There are toilets round the sides of the café. I didn't go in so can't comment. The paths we used were pram and wheelchair friendly, maybe a little bumpy though. There's a river that is accessible so you can cool your dogs down in. Lots of open fields to let the kids run wild and tire themselves out. All in all it was a good day and would definitely recommend. Plenty if picnic benches...
Read moreWitton country park is by far the best public park you will ever visit, especially if you bring along a bicycle. The park is huge and beautiful. There's ample parking, the 152 bus service that stops just outside, cherry tree train station a 10 mins walk away, and a variety of cycle routes arriving from all over town. So the park is pretty accessible. In side, you'll find a state of the art gym, a running track, a astro turf and a very entertaining children's sand pit. Beyond the sand pit you'll find a mini BMX pump track and then a huge playground full of wooden climbing frames and a ridiculously large slide. It's a dream come true for any child. The park is also home to miles and miles of steep, twisting and sometimes quite challenging cycle and hiking tracks. If you bring along a mountain bike, you're in for a thrilling expirience. The park is also home to numerous sports filelds but I have yet to explore these. The park also has a pretty rich history and you may come across some old structures in your travels which is always exciting. All in all, there's something for everyone in this country park. If you ever get the chance to visit, you will relish...
