If you're in the area, take an hour out and visit this amazing little Heritage Railway.

This lovely little Heritage Railway offers a driving experience for £15. As my wife is train mad I booked her the experience, thinking we'd book a few things to do on the day.

The volunteers were very friendly and welcoming, and the little museum has some interesting local history.

The driving experience was brilliant- footplate experiences at larger railways usually run three figures, so actually being able to drive the train for this small fee was fantastic, and my train-mad wife loved having this opportunity.

The track is very short; railway track is VERY expensive as it turns out, and this is a small operation. With local investment and support from train/railway enthusiasts this place has the makings of an amazing heritage railway; the fantastic volunteers here definitely deserve the chance to see that development.

Thank you so much for a memorable...

Visited on Easter Monday 2025 just a few days short of my birthday. A very short heritage line still in its early days, but absolutely enjoyed my ride behind the little diesel train, and the volunteers very friendly, enthusiastic and approachable. Nice little museum with some lovely exhibits.

All in all, I was highly impressed by this tiny heritage railway, it has a great future ahead of it with lots of potential, and I would highly recommend a visit here. I'll certainly be coming back here again :)

Thank you to the Yorkshire Wolds Railways for a truly enjoyable and...

Wonderful. A sweet little ¼ of a mile line that makes use of every inch of track they have. Only 2 locomotives, both diesel and only 1 working. Worth visiting just for the sheer quaintness. Ride lasts about 15 to 20 minutes as they take you on an out and back journey twice in a tiny guards van. Would highly reccomend. Pretty much runs on demand with no timetable so there's no rush to miss the...

Have visited now for a couple of years great to see progress everytime I visit. Pitty I dont have enough time in life to become a volunteer and help. Great to ride in the cab of the loco very unique whilst the line is small. The shop is fab for the kids and gifts, the visitor centre is really well put together, lots of history of the line and railway items. Great place to visit and support a local line.
