First time we'd been to this country park. We checked online first and walked in from near the Cricket club. It was very muddy walking in... It's what you'd expect this time of year... but otherwise a good walk along the cutting to where the rock crusher used to be, out into Finedon then a walk round to the old railway bridge and out under the bridge and into the country. This is a great dog walking place and interesting for its industrial heritage and wildlife. Everyone we met passed the time of day with a smile and we happily occupied an hour or so walking out along the old railway trackbed to the Nature Reserve and back again. Good walking, friendly people and there'd be good birdwatching in different seasons....
Read moreThis Pocket Park gets a full five stars from me. Dogs are allowed to be walked here and this is reflected in the provision of doggy poo bins. But that's not the end of it. Look closer, and what looks like a bird house, it's full of doggy poo bags to use if you have forgotten to bring, or run out of your own poo bags. No excuse now for not cleaning up after your four legged friend.
