It's sits on a marsh with almost nothing else around for as far as the eye can see. You have to collect a large iron key from a house a few hundred yards away. Not often you get to open a big old door with a big old key that many people have used through time, and that in itself was enough for me. The interior is cute too, with individual, maybe family, cubicles. Take some coins for the donation box as they have some beautiful tea towels and cups you can buy. A lovely mini adventure. The timber framed building was reconstructed using original materials in 1912, after the original structure was found to be unstable. Access is via a causeway, but before this was built the church was often only accessible by boat. Inside, there's a seven sided medieval font, mahogany pulpit and white painted box pews. Some churches are about show, some dominating or even unhospitable but this 13th Century little church is just full of charm and has a 'warm' feeling.
