Absolutely lovely day out on the 6th August 2020. I was made aware of this place via Facebook - I was looking for somewhere to take my children for a day out to expend some of their energy and was not disappointed! The tickets were well priced (pre-booked) and the website actively encouraged bringing your own picnic but also had an on-site café (much needed hot drink as the day we went it rained!). Upon arrival, there was a hand sanitizer station available next to the entrance kiosk. We were greeted by a friendly member of staff and given our 'train tickets' for the day. The tree house adventure playground was a HUGE hit for my 4 year old (even the 1 year old enjoyed walking around it!) which is around a 3 minute walk from the entrance. Very safe and lots of places for them to 'hide' for a game of hide and seek! The playground at the top of the park was great fun with picnic tables around. the park had swings, slide, climbing frame etc. Everything you would want in a park! A little further down was a 'build your own hut' space. This consisted of off-cut pieces of wood which could be made into huts (we didn't disturb them but loved seeing them). We walked down from the top (5 minute walk) with a pushchair and went to the train platform halfway down (would be rude not to use the steam train that we went there to see!) The carriages can easily accommodate pushchairs by pushing one of the benches up. The limitless train rides were brilliant. Albeit they had a train schedule (due every 40 minutes) we found that the train times varied depending on whether the train needed to stop at other stations etc. You can easily walk from the bottom of the park to the top within 10 minutes (we dawdle). Seeing the train in action was fantastic. Both my children enjoyed riding on the train and hearing the train 'toot'. Plenty of hand sanitizer stations available all around the park and wasn't hard to socially distance. The train carriages had perspex windows in between each 'booth' and the seats/anywhere the previous users had touched were wiped down which also put us at ease during these current times. All facilities were open (excluding the indoor picnic area at the bottom) and were clean. Staff were all brilliant there - friendly, always had a smile and informative. Would highly recommend this place - we spent 5 hours there (and had 2 VERY tired children at the end...

Arrival, easy to find, and well signed. Car park is large with some shaded areas, disabled parking at the front near entrance.
Admission booth is easily accessible, toilets to the right of entrance accessible toilets and baby changeing available, these are the only toilets there are none around the play parks.
Cafe is just on the right as you go in, prices are slightly high but passible. They have a wi ter and summer menu. Small seating area plenty of outdoor seating. Picnics are allowed to be taken onto site.
There's some small battery-powered rides for the kids in the main train area.
Tree top play park is fantastic. There's a bench to sit in the area, and this part is fully accessible to reach but not play.
Woodland walk is beautiful, takes you to station platforms where you can catch the trains and also takes you to an open field where you can run around and picnic.
There's also another play park , swings , slides, and a tunnel maze. All great fun, there's plenty of benches and shades in this area.
Trains soooo much fun, the main one lasts 20mins and stops around the park there's accessible cabins for prams and wheelchairs etc there's plenty of shaded seating while waiting for the train
Smaller train also running takes about 8 minutes lots of fun
YOU CAN RIDE THE TRAINS AS MUCH AS YOU WANT. We chose different seating areas đ€Ł
It's great really good fun !! We got in half price as it was the teddies bears picnic but I'd be happy paying full price too if I'm honest , there's a family pass which is worth it too.
Play parks are suitable...
Read moreThey really need new staff in the cafe/gift shop. The 2 girls working in there today were dreadful. & thatâs not something I would say lightly, I understand that working in hospitality isnât easy at times but there was no excuse today. Only us & one other table in there at this point, firstly the girl never told us they were out of baguettes & gave us a cold hard sandwich that wasnât even wrapped properly in cling film. It took her 20 minutes to make these in the back. I donât think the bread had been out the freezer for long, I took it back as it wasnât what I ordered & not something Iâm willing to pay ÂŁ4.30 for. Why not just say âwe have no baguettesâ. After 25 minutes I politely said to the other girl we are waiting for a tea cake to which she snapped âYes I know I am doing them now!â I laughed & said okay, (it takes 90 seconds to toast a tea cake doesnât it really) :) the tea cake appeared 10 minutes later looking like it just left the crematoriumâŠlovely. It was the over all attitude of the tattooed girl, I do wonder how they will cope when it gets busy as they were falling apart with these 2 tables. In between this other people came back in to say they hadnât received orders/orders wrong from outside. Just no customer skills/food prep it was really shocking, itâs a shame because staff who donât care can really ruin businesses. The kids parks, Forrest &...
