It is a serene spot in the Forest of Dean, perfect for a quiet walk or picnic. The well itself is a beautiful sight, and the surrounding area is full of interesting wildlife. My weird little nephew loves racing his petrol-powered remote control boats around the well, and it is always a fun day out for the whole family.

The well is also a popular spot for swimming, but be warned that the water can be very cold! If you are feeling brave, you can even try your hand at...

So disappointed ☹️ what a beautiful place spoilt by selfish people who thought it was funny to completely hog the well preventing you from getting close with a child. We just wanted to, take a few pictures and go for a walk but these people had taken over, lit a fire and we’re in the well, one actually looked naked! There was only us and another guy on a bike so they could have at least let us near to take pictures then do what they needed to do. Such a shame after...

Beautiful secluded area of the Forest of Dean. Parked near the bottom in a pull-in place & went for a walk around before going to the Well. There are paths leading in different directions so you could spend a few hours there. I did a 3 mile walk then chilled by the Well & stream, very peaceful. Tidied some sticks & bits out of the stream just to do my bit whilst there. Children could play for hours here during summer but be warned the water...

It's an old school well with small bathing pool. If you happened upon it you might be pleasantly surprised. If you sought is out you may be disappointed. Unless you like wells. In which case you really like this. If you were stood nearby looking in the wrong direction you wood see the picture attached. Hope that helps.

It's such a stunning place to visit, very peaceful and relaxing. The well is crystal clear now it has been dredged but the ground near the steps are so muddy it puts alot of people off. Could there possibly have a gravel or stone ground to walk on to get into the well so the mud isn't causing anymore issues.
