Snugly nestled along the A2 this lovely Park is close to the M2 (Junction 1) as well. There is an Esso Fuel station nearby too. However do not let the close proximity of the park to the Highway put you off as you can not even hear the noise pollution from there. The parking is (currently) at a flat rate for the day that is ANPR camera checked. The park is part of the Kent County Council group of parks so getting a season ticket may be worth your while as you can get into a number of parks with just one pass. If you would like to learn about woodlands or just go for a walk with your dog this scenic park is for you. There is a good on lead area if your dog needs to be kept on lead (these areas are for visitor and wildlife safety too) and a vast off lead area where your pooch can run like the wind. There are a good number of dog waste bins well placed along major routes. If you enjoy running and fitness then this is also a go to place as there are some outdoor fitness activities on a trail The dog pond has been well designed with a Jetty going into the water. However the ramp is quite steep and I have seen some arthritic dogs struggle to get back up. The gravel pathways make the accessible route worthwhile for wheelchair users. Some of the down sides due to the amount of water there are quite a lot of mosquitoes. Some of the areas where dogs can access can be muddy and the mud is a tad smelly. There is a good visitor centre with a decent sized Cafe and a good curio shop where if required they have some serious mobility scooters available first come...

Parking is Pay & Display ; Daily Charge is £2 Mon - Friday and £3 Sat,Sunday and Bank Holidays. Please be aware that there is a vehicle height restriction of 2 meters (6ft 6)

Machines do NOT take Card and are COINS ONLY with no change given so be sure to remember to bring some change.

The cafe has adequate indoor seating and plenty of outdoor seating serves good food and the gift shops sells plenty of interesting souvenirs.

This park has paths for horse riders, bike riders and dog walkers / runners and is very wheel chair friendly. They are electric off-road mobility scooters available to hire as well.

There's even a dog pond with ramps that lead into it allowing for dogs of all sizes to enter and leave with ease.

There is also a pond that can be used for fishing that is also home to a few ducks.

Lots of benches are available on the shorter routes and there are also 'exercise' stations that allow you to stretch or do pull ups / sit-ups.

The paths are clearly marked showing the different distances some that take you on a 6 mile route. I strongly advise bringing wellies as some of the longer paths can get very muddy.

Overall a very well-equipped and popular destination for dog walkers and families looking to enjoy the fresh air.

If you found this helpful, consider giving it a like! (It helps me imagine I...

I visited Shorne woods the other week and will definitely not be returning in the future, as i can not quite understand the use of a third party parking (euro car parks) when it should be run by the local council, encouraging people to get out in nature although its hard to define that as you can constantly hear the motorway. It is a basic human right to have access to green spaces so why charge for parking its hardly being spent on any real maintenance of the car park having to park on gravel... Why on earth in this modern day society we should be paying for parking to visit a supposedly green space and part of the woodland trust. As for charging £3 on a weekend instead of £2 on the week day just because you know more people will visit weekends penalising them for their inconsiderate timings. Its unfortunate that at the end of the day its just greed. If you take in consideration that there are a total of 359 available parking spaces, even its 60% full on a weekend and people stay for an average of 2-3 hours maybe three lots of parking through out a day at the weekend. So 359 x 0.60% = 215. 215 x 3 = 645. Potentially 645 lots of parking tickets on one day x £3 = £1935. Cant really justify these...
