A Peaceful Gem with Charming Wildlife I had a really lovely time at Trosley Country Park. One of the highlights for me was seeing the otters — they were incredibly vocal and full of personality! It was such a joy just to watch them for a while, and it really added something special to the visit. What I appreciated most about the park was the relaxed atmosphere. Unlike bigger, busier zoos or parks where you feel like you need to rush around to see everything, Trosley has a calm and welcoming vibe. You can take your time, enjoy the surroundings, and really soak in the experience without feeling pressured. It’s not a huge place, but I actually think that works in its favour. It feels more personal, more connected to nature, and easier to explore at your own pace. Whether you're popping in for a short visit or staying a while to enjoy the animals and scenery, it's a really peaceful and enjoyable spot. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a quieter, more laid-back experience with some lovely wildlife to enjoy!

First time visiting this place in many years. Seems to have changed a bit. More parking spaces ( chargeable) and looks like a bigger cafes. Also around the main red walk they have exercise equipment of sorts and things for kids to do. We did the red walk which was about an hour, mainly flat apart from when you get half way round you go up a slight hill. Trosley is like a long thin woodland so you walk one side and then walk ths other. They also have other walks, including one where you go to the bottom of the hill and walk along the fields before returning into the woodland. The cafe was nice although when we got there , there was only a selection of cakes to go with our coffee. But a nice walk and not muddy which is a bonus . Only thing i would say is I don't think there were any benches along the way. Maybe something for them to consider for the older folk that need to rest every so often.

Lovely wintery walk at Trosley today. The Country Park is very well maintained, with good, clearly-marked trails of varying distances of 1.5 to 4.0 miles in length. Brilliant for dog walkers, wearing kids out in the fresh air or for just regenerating your own batteries in peace and quiet. Parking just £1.50 for a midweek day, and do make sure you've paid as the number plate recognition system will get you if you don't! There is a cafe area by the car park, but check opening times whilst Covid restrictions are in place. We went a little off the Woodland Walk to visit the Coldrum Long Barrow, a National Trust site, built 1000 years before Stonehenge.... wow.

A picturesque wood in the middle of the country. Trosley Country Park has a number of woods that are well maintained. There is a well maintained pathway going through that is step free. If you can handle a few bumps then you may be able to use a power chair or mobility scooter. For the fitness fanatics there is a trim trail with a number of outdoor exercise activity points. The Trosley visitor centre features a good Cafe with a good old fashioned cup of tea (served in real cups). The centres roof has a garden that is environmentally friendly wit reclaimed rainwater used to flush the loo 🚽 A great place to walk your dog if you are able to keep close control with a good recall. There are a fair number of dog waste bins placed along the trials so you will not have to go too far with a bag in hand. As the wood is on a hillside there are a few good views into the valley. Friendly and helpful staff Parking is charged at a reasonable rate for the day. A season ticket will get you parked at a number of other...
