One of the most confusing experiences my senses have ever had. It's looks like you're at a luxury white sand beach in the Caribbean but the freezing wind and hypothermic ocean water makes you feel like you were punched in the face by a haggard scotsman who's screaming "Welcome to Scotland have you tried the haggis!" You would've expected me to have given up by this point but the siren song of the clear blue water kept calling to me, beckoning me to my icy grave.
10/10 Beauty 8/10 for trying to lure me to death.
Now let me tell you about the iron age house. This mound of dirt must be Bonnie Prince Charles pride and joy because never have I laid eyes upon a more well protected mound of dirt. Between me and my goal were two bulls and their lady friends ready to gore me like an American shish kabob. I never expected a beach would try to kill me twice. Needless to say I avoided a direct confrontation. I scaled the Sandy hills surrounding looking for a safe entrance into the ancient site. Once I finally arrived I found...a pile of dirt. To be honest I've seen better.
5/10 Decent but not impressive pile of dirt. 9/10 Excellent security system!
10/10 would...

A short walk along rough paths take you from the car park to the beach, passing an ancient graveyard that is still used today. Some of the graves are war graves. Just off shore is a Time and Tide bell, one of 12 put up around Britain by Marcus Vergette as an art installation. Also present on site is a reconstructed Iron Age dwelling. Altogether, this is a fascinating and atmospheric location, and well worth the careful drive over the narrow, winding, roller-coaster of a road required to bring you to this...

Found this place by accident but we were so relieved to feel welcomed with spacious van parking in amongst the rolling green hills right next to the beautiful beach. Timber seats were made available for our use which were very handy, thank you! Toilet facilities here. Honesty box. Mind the sheep they have real character 😆 we thought someone was knocking on the van the next morning, turns out the sheep came to check in on us! 🐑😊 Thanks to the care takers of this place for providing such a...
