It's a small stone circle but we'll worth a visit if you like stone circles. Otherwise it's a beautiful area with walks in all directions and amazing views. You can walk to Ennerdale water from here too. The road is an experience. Sheep and horses if you are lucky, we were not and unfortunately didn't see the horses. We love a stone circle, I wish it were possible to know the history of it and who...

The stone circle isn't amazing but walk here from Wath Bridge over Dent and enjoy fantastic 360 degree views over West Cumbria and the Solway! On a very clear day you can see Northern Ireland from the road near here. Scotland is easy to see and from a little further south towards Calder Bridge and on a very very clear winter's day I have seen the peaks of...

This is a beautiful stone circle on the edge of the Western fells and so easy to access as it is right next to Scaly Moss Road. If you are passing then it's worth stopping and taking in the circle. It's small but perfectly formed and there are great views of the surrounding fells. You might get a visit from the local wild horses to make the visit even more memorable.
