Cooling Castle Barn — Attraction in Great Britain

We were due to get married here in 2020 on the 5th April. We had had our final meeting and everything was anxiety inducing but we were excited.

Unfortunately the lockdown postponed our day to December 2020 and as we got closer it became apparent that we would not manage this date either.

The venue were very cold with us, and despite having paid 100% of our money to them they refused point blank to move our date and continued taking new bookings. I was told that I could only move the date again 6 weeks before if the government said we would not be able to proceed.

Every single supplier was flexible and eager to appease but Cooling Castle Barn, the most expensive part of the whole day, refused. They were immovable and unsympathetic and at such a traumatic time I honestly feel they showed their true colours: they cared more about getting the business through the door than taking care of their current clients.

For this reason I would never recommend them to anybody as honestly I cannot imaging having my wedding run by people who cared so little about others a such an awful time. It was evident that they saw each couple simply as a payday as they continued to take on new clients.

Fortunately for us, 6 weeks before the December date, we recieved our refund due to second lockdown.

After a little look online at venues we came across CCB. We booked in to view and instantly knew it was the one for us, no need to look anywhere else. Chose our package, put down our deposit and planning just fell into place. There is an online wedding planner portal that keeps communication clear with the CCB team and it was just so easy to use and meant we all shared the same vision for our big day. There was also great communication and someone there to answer any messages. The CCB Team are so lovely & welcoming from our first visit and many others right till our wedding day & beyond. We had a supper evening where we tasted all the scrumptious meals there was too offer as well as tasty wines and champagnes and the team was on hand all through the evening. On our wedding day I couldn’t have fault the CCB team and the wonderful, beautiful Lucy who was there for us through out the morning & ceremony and was absolutely amazing with our ASD son she went above and beyond and we are both so grateful we had her with us on our day. In the evening we had fabulous Tommy, who again was so helpful and an absolute pleasure. We got married on Monday at Cooling Castle Barn and it was perfect. The staff were amazing and nothing was to much trouble for them. Every little bit of detail they took to do just made our day better. Our toast master Steve took the time to know my bridal party names and even our little boys name too. He kept making sure we was ok and nothing was to much trouble for him. Excellent toast master and so friendly. The team behide the sences made sure everything was how I wanted it and again nothing was to much trouble for them. They took the time to talk to us both and get to know us. Everything I had dreamed off for my wedding day came true at this venue. The venue is gorgeous and everyone said how amazing it was. From the day we booked this venue, the team had communicated with us every step of the way and no question was a silly one. They helped planned our day and I knew I could trust them with this. The wedding portal was exactly what I needed to make sure I had everything done and organised. This definitely made my life easier when planning.
