I visited Beddgelert on the first day of September 2019. After I spent my day in the village, I headed to the National Trust car park. There are different coloured trails, but to be honest I did not take the whole route, just wanted to see the first waterfall. However, because the weather was dry for a while, so the waterfall did not really exist that time, so I returned half way. However I saw that the trails can be challenging, as it is a mountain walk in the forest, steep and uneven on the rocks. Proper hiking boot is essential and trekking poles also can help. The copper mine is stunning and very interesting and not far to walk from here either.
If you take the black arrow route - please be aware you need a map and compass to complete the loop, as the arrows will just stop at some point, so you will have to follow it back on yourself if you don't have a map and compass.
I would recommend the cottages and converted stables nearby. Just be aware the mattresses in the covertednstables...
Read moreWe visited this site after a morning at the Sygun copper mine. There are a couple of paths marked in red and green on the map next to the car park. On the tracks you will find the corresponding green arrows but the other routes have various coloured markers which confused a couple of walking groups we came across. We followed the 1.5 mile green route with no problems. The scenery is stunning and was a lovely walk even if it did rain and hail on occasion! Thoroughly recommend it if...
