I recently had the pleasure of visiting the David Austin Roses and I must say, it was an absolute delight! From the breathtaking roses to the cozy tea room and the charming shop, every aspect of my visit was a treat. Entry is free.

The roses at David Austin are a sight to behold. As a rose enthusiast, I was in heaven surrounded by the impressive variety of blooms. From classic English roses to vibrant modern hybrids, the garden boasts an extensive collection that showcases the passion and expertise of the David Austin team. Each petal seemed to exude its own unique fragrance, filling the air with an intoxicating perfume. I spent hours meandering through the perfectly manicured pathways, admiring the vibrant colors and delicate forms of these exquisite flowers. It was a visual feast for the eyes and a true celebration of nature's beauty.

After my wanderings, I sought refuge in the charming tea room. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a cozy ambiance that perfectly complemented the floral surroundings. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the selection of teas and treats was simply delightful. I treated myself to a vegan roll and elderflower drink which was super. The cakes were freshly baked, the Victoria sponge cake looked delicious, and the pastries were heavenly. It was the ideal way to relax and reflect on the beauty of the roses I had just experienced.

No visit to David Austin Roses would be complete without a stop at their well-curated shop. Filled with an array of gardening and rose-related treasures, the shop is a haven for rose enthusiasts and gift seekers alike. From stunning rose-themed home decor to gardening tools and a variety of rose plants, the shop offers a wide range of high-quality items that are both beautiful and practical.

In conclusion, David Austin Roses is a must-visit destination for anyone who appreciates the beauty and elegance of roses.Whether you're a rose lover, a garden enthusiast, or simply seeking a peaceful and enchanting escape, this place is a hidden gem you won't...

If you really love roses then David Austin is a name you'll know, and the show gardens and nursery are an amazing visit. Booking ahead atm is necessary with covid restrictions on numbers. We started with a fantastic lunch in the restaurant where there was lovely salads, hot dishes and ploughman platters, all very generosity portions. Followed by tea and lively cakes served on David Austin's own China (very pretty!) There is also a tea rooms too if you're after a quicker drink too. We then went on a wander of their beautiful rose gardens, very expansive and worth a visit. We had a guest in a wheelchair and the gardens are mostly step free but are either gravel or grass underfoot, so might be difficult to navigate unless the person pushing the chair is quite able bodied, or the chair is electric. The roses themselves are beautiful (as always with David Austin) and you can see all varieties in the garden or the free brochure available at the entrance (bonus - this is full of so many handy hints and tips with roses, so pick one up), then go buy them from the nursery! The staff are so helpful and friendly and if you can't find a rose you're looking for, they'll be happy to help. All roses are £27, so often cheaper and larger here than what you'd get from the main garden centres. Very lovely afternoon out, especially with the sunshine. Note: the entrance is down some quite narrow country lanes. Don't panic! - you're SatNav...

Two couples. Our 2.5 hour drive to visit David Austin Roses was well worth the effort. There is ample accessible, level parking a short walk from the entrance. Each visitor is handed a guide book upon entering. We toured the gardens and then decided on an early midday lunch as customers were already queuing outside the restaurant. We waited about 15 minutes to be seated. There was a delay between ordering and our four meals being served and unfortunately they did not all arrive together. Our friends received their meals about 15 minutes later than us. The food was fresh and well cooked and presented. The gardens and roses on display are stunning and all of the planting is in outstandingly good condition. Needless to say we purchased some lovely potted roses (£33.00 each) at the end of our visit. I would recommend making sure you have plenty of boot space to take your purchases home. I would visit again but, if you live too far away, David Austin Roses have an excellent online website and delivery service which I have used on several occasions. In total we spent about 4 hours at...

Wow. What a beautiful rose garden! Absolutely stunning and with free entry too. Lots of free parking and as soon you step out of the car the scent of roses really hits you. We took my elderly parents who have mobility issues and they had a great time as it was all flat, almost step free and there were plenty of places to sit and rest as well as space to manoeuvre her rollator. We went on a Saturday in June, so very much peak day in peak season, but as the garden was so large it swallowed everyone up and it didn't feel crowded at all. The shop had a huge selection of roses to choose from and we couldn't resist buying a couple as we were so inspired. The cafe and the restaurant looked great, but they were heaving with large queues, so we decided to grab a tea and cake from the nearby garden centre. All in all a lovely place to visit and very popular when it's rose season. Oh and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We were greeted by Maggie (I think that was her name - she was new) and she was amazing. Very friendly, welcoming and informative.
