Before the ‘Wedding Day’ De Courceys was the first place that we viewed as a potential wedding venue. After visiting this wonderful place, the other venues we went to see did not match the feeling we had for the manor. It just felt right.

Abigail was the first person that we dealt with and she couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful. She made us feel so special throughout and made us feel as if our wedding was the most important event in their calendar. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was done with a smile. The other staff members working on the wedding team were just as nice and answered any questions we had fully and promptly.

Even the food servers were absolutely lovely during our food tasting evening and made us feel at home whilst we were there. This is where we also met Lewis, who is on hand on the wedding day.

As the big day was approaching, Abigail and her team sent over helpful check lists to make sure the day ran smoothly, which was a great help.

The day before the wedding, the team allowed me (the bride) & my assistants (family & friends) come to the venue to set up. Being a perfectionist, this was such a lovely thing to allow me to do. We were also given a complimentary glass of bubbly whilst we were there, as the bar man could see I was a little stressed :)

We were not rushed at any point & were left to set up at our leisure. The staff also provided us with things we had forgotten.

The ‘Wedding Day’

The staff went above and beyond to ensure that we had the most perfect day.

We pulled up to the red carpet & were greeted by Lewis with welcome drinks. We welcomed our guests & then were taken by Lewis for a sneak peak of the breakfast room, before the guests. It was beautiful. The table cloths, bows & chair covers were pristine white & the table places were done attractively. The staff had paid even more attention to the top table. We really couldn’t have asked for more.

Lewis spent some time speaking with us along with the lovely lady servers we had met during our food tasting evening. We felt as if we were among friends.

When we were ready, the guests were called in by the best man. Everyone sat down and enjoyed the delicious food and drinks. During our meal, Lewis was tendering to our every need and even put a large napkin over my dress. Lewis was on hand at all times and ensured we were always with a drink.

Just before the toast, the staff came in and stood around the room. We didn’t pay much attention to this, as we thought they were getting in place to perhaps clear the tables. Oh no… They were in place to pop corks of champagne bottles simultaneously. It was a totally surprise and was just fantastic. It made everyone in the room cheer!! What a fantastic experience.

After the speeches, we, along with our guests left the breakfast room, to allow the staff to prepare it for the evening.

The other rooms are equally gorgeous, but all unique to each other. My personal favourite is the ‘ceremony room’ which we used for our welcome drinks & our evening buffet. It is simple stunning. The second bar room & the conservatory are ideal for guests who would like to sit & chat.

The ladies bathroom is so unusual and oozes glamour.

The evening also went as smoothly as the day. The house DJ was great and the lighting made the room look amazing.

All of our guests have said that our wedding was spectacular & were so impressed with the venue, food and service.

We cannot thank the De Courceys team enough for hosting our special day. We are truly thankful for the exception service they provided throughout. They really did make our day perfect. Thank you all so much!

On the 29th April 2023, Lucy and I had the pleasure of tying the knot and celebrating our marriage at the remarkable De Courceys Manor. From start to finish, our experience was nothing short of exceptional, and we are thrilled to share our heartfelt review.

First and foremost, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to Lewis and Abbie, the operations managers who orchestrated our special day flawlessly. Their dedication to ensuring a stress-free experience was truly remarkable. The level of customer service provided by the entire team was unparalleled, and we were consistently impressed by their attentiveness and efficiency. With their unwavering support, we were able to confidently entrust them with the responsibility, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the joyous occasion.

Throughout the planning process, we had the pleasure of working closely with Lewis. His sharp wit and incredible sense of humour instantly put us at ease during our initial consultation. Lewis's extensive experience in the hospitality industry and personable approach gave De Courceys Manor a distinct advantage over its competitors. His meticulous attention to detail ensured that our wedding day was nothing short of perfection, surpassing even our wildest dreams.

One of the highlights of our celebration was undoubtedly the culinary experience at De Courceys Manor. Renowned for their gastronomic prowess comparable to Michelin-starred restaurants, we had high expectations, and they were surpassed with flying colours. The delectable cuisine provided a culinary journey for our taste buds, leaving an indelible impression on our guests. The chefs truly outdid themselves, and we cannot express our gratitude enough.

We were incredibly fortunate to have favourable weather, allowing our guests to fully enjoy the enchanting garden areas as well as the elegant rooms within the manor. The newly built garden area, combined with the meticulously maintained grounds, provided a picturesque backdrop for our special day. Our talented photographers were able to capture breathtaking moments that we will treasure for the rest of our lives. The serene ambiance and immaculate surroundings only enhanced the magic of De Courceys Manor.

In conclusion, our experience at De Courceys Manor exceeded all expectations. As a wedding venue, it flawlessly checks all the boxes - elegance, affordability, and a sense of intimacy that creates a truly luxurious atmosphere. Choosing a Wedding venue is one of the most stressful things you can do for your big day. Get it right and you’re in heaven - get it wrong, and it becomes a living nightmare. You need to ask yourselves, “what do you want from your wedding day?” This is a question we asked ourselves repeatedly and the answer stayed the same. We wanted to get married in a lovely venue and for everyone to have an amazing time. We visited 6 of the best venues South Wales has to offer but in the end we chose Decourceys Manor. We weren’t disappointed! Lewis & the Staff really do go above and beyond to make your day exactly as you want it and as special as it can be. You’re not simply dealing with a business who wants your money, you’re dealing with a family that care. So let’s break it down;

The Venue - you’re guaranteed complete exclusivity for your wedding with lovely surroundings (indoors and out) that will help capture beautiful moments.

The food - I cant overestimate how good the food is! All I can say is, our guests couldn’t stop complementing how amazing the canapés were before the main breakfast..! We’ve never been to a wedding before where everyone was loosing their minds over the canapés! That’s how good the food was and the mains were even better.

The layout - Decourceys Manor is quite deceptive. If you can imagine it, I truly believe Decourceys can recreate it! To give you an example, at night when people were enjoying their buffet, they were all in total disbelief when they realised that they were in the same room that we took our vows in. Such is the transformation that the team at Decourceys can achieve. It really did take friends and family a few minutes to believe it was the same room! Then the next morning whilst having a lovely cooked breakfast, the venue was already preparing for another wedding. It was the complete opposite to what we had and really just showed how versatile and what the Decourceys team can achieve. Same venue but looked like two different places.

Price - the good news is Decourceys is not the most expensive! But to be honest, there wasn’t much in it. Hundreds rather than thousands between venues with what we wanted with numbers etc. However some venues did bump up their price by thousands if you wanted complete exclusivity whereas that’s standard with Decourceys.

At the end of the day, what do you want from your wedding day? IF your wedding is about feeling special, being special and having an amazing time. Then accept no substitute. DeCourceys Manor is definitely for you!
