Brilliant day out. At 68 and my wife 52 we got kitted up with some trepidation. As this was a surprise for my wife ( she didn't look to happy as we pulled into the car park and i told her what i'd booked.) and watching the team in front of us go through the safety briefing and training we both remarked that it looked complicated and wondered wether or not to proceed. Our fears were allayed when Josh ( from Helmsley) our instructor for the session began his brief and all became clear. This young lad loves his job and his enthusiasm shone through and put us at ease. A credit to your organisation indeed! Even on the practice course my wife shouted down with a query Josh kept her right. The course was as long as you wanted it to be as you could take as much time as you needed. At 68 i found scrambling/ crawling up the cargo nets was the most difficult thing but i still managed lugging my 103 killograms up onto the platforms! The upside were the ziplines 6 of them in all....brilliant! The downside it was over all too soon! We got there for 10.30a.m ( our session started at 11a.m.) and we left at 2.15 ish we paid £12 parking fee which seemed a bit steep but we happily paid as we were riding on the wave of euphoria being so pleased with ourselves! Well done Go Ape.... and well done Josh!

We had a fantastic time at Go Ape Dalby! The instructors were brilliant — really friendly, professional, and made sure everyone felt confident before setting off. The safety briefing was clear, informative, and well-paced, which really put us at ease. The views from the zip lines were absolutely stunning, soaring over the trees with the forest stretching out below was an unforgettable experience. The whole area is beautifully maintained; the grounds were tidy and clean, and the toilets were spotless. Parking is managed by Forestry England and cost £12, which we felt was reasonable given how well-kept the entire site is. Plus, there’s plenty more to do after your Go Ape session with walking trails, picnic areas, and other outdoor activities, you can easily make a full day of it. Highly recommend for families, friends, or anyone after a bit of adventure in a gorgeous setting!

Did the treetop challenge, was fantastic! The course is quite large and gets higher and higher up a hill as you go around (although one part does require a steep up hill walk!). My favourite part was the 2 zip wires which crossed high up above the valley, and the fantasic views across the moors. Thank you to the instructor who noticed I was by myself and let me go ahead of a large group, that saved me time! Social distancing was not too bad as you were outside it was easy enough to keep 2m, and once your on the course it's only one on an obstacle at a time so no issues there. Only thing I'd say is that the group sizes did feel a bit too large for comfort during the briefing, but this was fine once we got to the course.

Booking is a must as it's very popular and can only take a limited number of people on the course at a time. You are given an hour to complete the course(s) on the Go ape adventure. (Not sure how long you get for Go ape challenge). It's a wonderful bonding activity for parent and child or just great fun for kids if you want to stay on terrafirma (firmer ground). The staff are really friendly and knowledgeable and are available to help and support if it's needed. They know what they're talking about so the safety brief is short but informative. Safety harnesses are provided and fitted by the instructors before you go up and there's always at least one on the course and a couple on ground level should help be required. It's a bit scary (apparently I'm not as brave as I was 10yrs ago when I did the challenge), but the sense of achievement at the end was worth it. While there isn't any facilities at the actual activity site there is a visitor centre across the road with toilets, cafe and play area for the kids. GoApe is a fantastic activity set in a beautiful local where whole days can be spent walking or cycling the extensive trails or just sitting with coffee and a cake listening to the birds. Take a picnic and enjoy all this wonderful forest...

Fantastic place!! We tackled the course for the first time today and thoroughly enjoyed it. The training was really professional and all equipment in great condition.

We did wait around quite a lot as a few activities had long queues, but it gave us chance to rest ha!

If I could suggest anything to make it even better, it would be to have a bit more supervision. I know it’s well advertised that it’s unsupervised, but we had a couple of incidents that made us feel a bit unsafe and would have appreciated having someone there to deal with it. One was a child following me, who didn’t wait for me to clear the activity before starting. The other was a young man, who was bouncing and jumping on the walks, making the trees and platforms shake around it. Several people said that it was making them nervous. It would have been nice if a staff member would have been there to stop those things.

Also, the cafe closed before Go Ape closes, which is disappointing as after 3 hours, you really do need a drink.

Other than that, Go Ape Dalby is brilliant and well...
