A wonderful beach with the charming beach huts that locals covet over and are only allowed if they have proof of 17 generations having lived in the same shoe box and met a strict genetic test. The beach itself is large enough to accommodate people escaping covid with little risk of contamination.
The Daisy rock on the east has great shelfed bays and scrambling a plenty and apparently if you sit in the bay to Daisy's east on the summer solstice the setting sun passes right down the cleft between the boulders.
The first bay next to the harbour lends to good sandcastles and surfing, the second bay (beside the huts) has fantastic scrambling and rock hopping and plundging into shallow and slightly deeper pools. There is a shallow bay that fills at high tide which is ideal for little ones to play the hours away whilst owners can supervise remotely.
Very popular with watersports , sea kayaking surfing, snorkeling is good if you want to go old school and a large number of SUP people come to it's shore to paddle and play.( Don't worry they will soon discover the joy of crafts with seats.
Fantastic play park, open park and skate park right next to the generous parking , although at the moment the old bill have been shooing people on to other beachy areas but they secretly know those folks they wave on are getting a bum deal.
Locally there are awesome shops to get food, toilets not too far away. The access down harbour street can be difficult with people parking up one side of the narrow main road , especially with hoards of folk waiting outside the chippy and icecream shop. ( Good grub , I can highly recommend the haggis and fish) (all the ice cream is amazing)
The beach is great, don't tell too many people...

Facilities on ‘the shore’ unusual as being several shower and toilet self contained units of which two men’s, 2 women’s and two both- an unusual but effective approach to the usual boring facilities arrangements. There are 4 or 5 distinct themed areas which on the website seems confusing but on arrival becomes clear. Enjoyed biking on nearby railway tracks and quiet roads We will go out of our...
