Fabulous, secure place to let your dog have a ton of off lead fun. Many different facilities for hire for you and your dog to have some space to do what you want to do; just running about and sniffing, obedience training, agility training etc. There are multiple fields, each fenced off, a barn and some studios with a small indoor coffee/tea and dog treats vending machine.
The woodland is the real hit for us - great for younger pups to safely have fun without worrying they'll disappear off somewhere or run out into traffic. There's a more open area with a pond, some picnic benches and a covered bench for if it's raining and you want a sheltered sit down, plentiful waste bins and a drinking and washing station by the car parking area inside the secure area. Definitely the highlight of this dog facility vs others in the area. It's not huge, but there's nothing else this big, secure, and privately hirable in the area.
Updated for two new facilities! The Forest Walk is a gorgeous woodland areas with lots of interesting things to sniff under, climb on and generally have a fun time running or walking around. The paths for humans are very handy to keep the feet mostly dry in soggy conditions and there's a dog wash for spraying off those furry feet.
The Sensory Garden is brand new! Lots of interesting scents placed into labelled colorful posts for noses to explore. Three's a textured walkway with logs, sand, log ends and pebbles, and a glorious avenue of willowy saplings to duck through. Hidden in the trees are mobiles and wind chimes and two places to sit and relax with a cuppa, one in a nice pergola to keep the damp at bay. Great for a stimulating adventure...
Read moreHopewell Park is amazing. I have only used two of the many facilities: the Woodland and Meadow area and the Forest Walk area. There is also the Adventure Field, Sensory Garden - which just opened, The Barn, and the Obedience Field. The Woodland Meadow has lovely trails through trees that intertwine and there are seats with shelters and picnic tables under the trees. An ingenious pond drains the field using a solar panel to power the pump, and on hot summer days, if you can remember those! the dogs have a brilliant cooling-off area. The Forest Walk opened in the last year or so. It is a magical place with a massive uprooted, fallen tree in the center, great for hide-and-seek. The paths rise and fall through the woodland, which changes beautifully with the seasons; at the moment, the orange, russet, and brown leaves scrunching underfoot are sublime to walk through. The online booking system is easy, and if you make a mistake or have a last-minute emergency and cannot make it, the most helpful person, Rebekah, is waiting for you at the phone number on the website. I believe I am right that it is Rebekah's dad who helps her out, often seen with a spade or on a tractor, he has a wonderful sense of humour if you bump into him in passing. The two areas I visit have lots of bins for poo bags, tap and hose and dog drinking bowls. I have visited a few local dog parks and Hopewell is way out in the front for the size of the enclosures and the interest within them, what a fantastic job Rebekah and your...
Read moreAn excellent dog park.We did love going there.Having previously given a glowing review and 5 stars… Unfortunately I do not feel happy taking my dogs there anymore. I was rung by the owner in the middle of a walk, informing me a member of staff was watching my dogs and I. One of my dogs was digging, I was asked quite reasonably to please fill the holes. Which of course I agreed to immediately. It was then suggested that I wasn’t watching my dogs closely enough, how was I tracking poo? At this suggestion I immediately gathered my 3 dogs and left the field. After assuring the owner I not only pick up my own dogs poo, but any other I see. It was more the unnerving feeling of being watched that made me leave, as a woman on her own. But also the fact that my dogs were in a secure fenced area, so should have been free to run and explore.I appreciate a lot of maintenance goes into the park, but dogs do dig! I do really miss this...
