Lovely spot and very handy place to stop for a photo. Layby on both sides of the road, so plenty of parking spaces.
This is the classic Kilchurn photo opportunity, with views across the water to a peninsula of rocky land where the castle stands. Across the water we watched dozens of people trecking long distance from the start of the peninsula, in order to walk around the walls. No point during summer 2022 because the owner has erected 6foot fencing around it to prevent people getting inside. Might as well just visit this laybe for the better photos and view.
You also get to investigate a small mound on this side of the loch with a stone wall and fallen tree on top. The mystical vibes were attracting spiritual types up to the top of it.

Regarding the number of tourists present: I went at a time when there were not enough tourists, there were still 4/5 cars parked to admire this...

You can go through a gate and climb down into a fild, where you are sheepies wandering around to get a closer look of the Kilchurn Castle, which lays across the loch. I would highly suggest wellies or a high boot that is water proof. It a very nice look at the castle as a whole. The sheep in the field seem pretty used to people wandering through their field. I still wouldn't approach, but they do like to...
