The walk from Studland Bay to Old Harry Rocks is a stunning coastal route, offering breathtaking views of the Jurassic Coast, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The path takes you along the chalk cliffs, with panoramic views of the sea and countryside.

Starting from Studland Bay, the walk to Old Harry Rocks is about 1.5 miles each way. As you head towards Old Harry Rocks, you pass through heathland and open grasslands, which are home to a variety of wildlife. The trail is well-marked and relatively easy, suitable for most walkers.

Along the way, there is a war memorial, a poignant reminder of the past, set against the backdrop of the beautiful landscape. This memorial is dedicated to those who lost their lives during World War II and serves as a reflective spot amidst the natural beauty.

As you continue, the route becomes more dramatic as the chalk cliffs come into view. Old Harry Rocks themselves are an impressive sightβ€”towering white chalk formations that have been shaped by erosion over centuries. From this vantage point, you can see across to the Isle of Wight on a clear day, as well as down the coast towards Swanage and beyond.

The combination of historical elements, natural beauty, and coastal scenery makes this walk truly special. It's a great way to experience the unique landscapes of the...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Old Harry Rocks Review

Old Harry Rocks is without a doubt one of Dorset’s most stunning natural landmarks. Perched at the edge of the Isle of Purbeck, the striking white chalk stacks rise dramatically from the sea, creating a view that feels almost otherworldly. On a clear day, the contrast of the bright cliffs, turquoise water, and rolling green hills behind makes it one of the best coastal walks in England.

The walk out from Studland is fairly gentle and well-marked, making it suitable for most fitness levels. Along the way you’re treated to sweeping views across Swanage Bay and, on a good day, you can even see across to the Needles on the Isle of Wight. It’s a perfect spot for photography, picnics, or just sitting and taking in the fresh sea air.

Safety-wise, it’s worth noting that there are no fences near the cliff edges, so care is needed, especially with children or dogs. But that’s part of the raw beauty of the placeβ€”it’s still wild and unspoiled.

Whether you’re a local, a hiker exploring the South West Coast Path, or just visiting Dorset for the weekend, Old Harry Rocks is a must-see. It’s one of those places that makes you stop and realise just how incredible the British...

Well worth a visit for fantastic coastal views and some fresh air. There is a car park right next to the Bankes Arms Pub so I just put that in my Sat Nav. This is a little bit expensive at Β£5 for up to 2hrs, Β£8 for up to 4hrs and Β£12 all day for a car. It is free if you are a National Trust member. Once parked you leave the car park and turn right down the hill. Then at the bottom of the hill, next to some public toilets, you turn left and just keep walking. About 1mile in total and you get to Old Harry Rocks and some impressive views. (Do not go near the cliff edge as it is dangerous). A fairly easy, relatively flat walk overall. Can get a little muddy in places in the winter. You can walk along the coastal path to Swanage, an extra 3 miles and the path is ok but there are some steeper sections. Or you can go back to the Bankes Arms or try the Manor Tea Rooms. The car park can get busier in the summer so best...
