Visited this site last week during a particularly warm spell for us to find no water on site, all 4 canisters were bone dry. This is the THIRD time in a row this has happened to me and I don't even use this site very often so it is clearly a regular issue they aren't fixing. I reported it to them each time but given the temperatures on this occasion I have left a review as this is not just disappointing but also dangerous given dogs go there to "Run Free". This isn't a freak incident due to warm weather and more water being drank, it is entirely poor management of the site as the last time was in winter. I called to report this and the woman was nice, offered to have someone come out during my one hour booked slot that I paid £14 for to refill but this would've taken up a significant time of the 1 hour slot to carry theese cannisters down the field etc. Respectfully, I am not paying £14 for 1 hour to be interupted by something they should've better prepared for in the numerous unbooked empty timeslots, actually around 70% of the day was empty and not booked. She stated someone was due out earlier that day but she didn't know why they hadn't been out and stated if customers don't tell them there is no water they don't know and can't fix it. I accepted this on the call but afterwards reflected and I really don't think this is a justifable excuse. The onus is on Run Free to ensure their premises are adequately equipped, this onus should not be on the service users who are paying to attend these sites. If I hadn't brought water with me, what would've happened? The water canisters themselves are not great for anyone who is not able bodied as they are large and when they do actually have water really heavy. As someone who is disabled they are really difficult to fill bowls with and I'd imagine loads of the water gets wasted because it is impossible not to overspill from a massive 20litre cannister into a tiny water bowl. I have used a similar company called Unleash the Dogs and their fields are far better managed. Never not had water, rarely covered in poo and well maintained overall with great equipment. Run Free was great when it first opened but honestly it has gone downhill massively and seeing another company do it right just really shows how Run Free have fallen behind the times. It is a shame, had many great memories here but not only are they more expensive than Unleash the dogs for poorer services and a token tree trunk thrown in a field opposed to proper and plentiful dog agility equipment, they even have water dispensers with just an on/off switch rather than having to lift heavy 20litre cannisters. Their attitude of it being the paying customers responsibility to help them manage their sites has truly astounded me and this isn't the first time I have heard the same excuse from them. It is Run Frees responsibility to check their sites regularly for water, poo, grass cutting etc. The proof is in the bookings, Unleash are booked up days if not weeks at a time and Run Free has more empty slots than taken ones each day. I am not one to leave bad reviews but this has really bothered me, especially given it isn't the first time plus you'd think in warmer weather the most common sensical solution is to add extra water runs on to account for this, even us humans have been drinking more lately due to the unforeseen temperature increases across Glasgow. I really don't think asking for water to be there on a hot day at a field you are paying £14 for an hour is a big ask. You wouldn't go to any other service provider and be expected to help them manage their services in order to provide the most basic of amenities. Sadly won't be returning again after using this site for years but I do hope they listen and make the necessary improvements so other people can continue to enjoy it...
Read moreMy reactive dog loves these fields, lots of space to run about, always finds a rogue tennis ball and always comes hope knackered.
One thing I will suggest is that you guys add a locked entrance to the carpark. The last time I was there, a woman showed up 10 minutes before my time ended(so 25 mins(?) before her slot) with a van full of barking dogs, who put off my, aforementioned, reactive dog. The reason there's a space between slots is so that this doesn't happen. We ended up leaving early because my dog couldn't concentrate on me for all the noise in the back of the van. Was so...
Read moreThe dogs had a wonderful time and we had a lovely picnic on the table provided. There are large containers of water and dishes for the dogs. I booked for 2 slots but hope to book longer next time Wish I had taken some pics!! If I could suggest something it would be to stabilise the picnic table. It was like being on a see saw. When my partner stood up the table shook and I nearly fell off my bench. That is a very serious criticism I know but...
