Speyburn Distillery — Attraction in Great Britain

Wow what a gem of a place, we visited when we were in Inverness, Sandy our distillery tour guide, was really informative and knowledgeable and passionate about the distillery, took us on a full tour of the place, from where the raw grain was delivered outside, through all the older side of the distillery, and then into the current production side, the mash tuns, outside up onto the roof above the still cooling tanks, and then to where the copper stills were, then into the maturation bonded warehouse, giving an amazing outlook into a working whisky distillery. Then off to the finale of the tour, the tasting of the final product 😋 👌. Truly an amazing couple of hours, that I would recommend you take time out to visit. As someone who has visited many distilleries in Scotland, I was genuinely surprised by Speyburn. We had a fantastic tour given by Sandy, who is a veteran in the industry and extremely knowledgeable about every single aspect of the process and the distillery itself. Combined with a good dose of Scottish humor this was an experience I won’t soon forget. Not to mention Speyburn makes some fantastic whisky, which might surprise some people (including myself) because it is a bit of a lesser known brand amidst all the marketing heavy competitors in Scotland. I can't say enough good things about Speyburn Distillery. I love their whisky and visited for a tour last week. The visitor center staff are so welcoming, they gave us a place to store our bags during our tour, the visitor center is cozy and charming. Our tour guide, Alec, has been part of Speyburn since he was a kid when his dad managed the distillery. He offered a unique insider's view of the distillery that made the tour more than just a lesson in whisky-making. This is truly a family operation and they made us feel welcome like family.
