What can I say?! We found this beautiful place while looking for a base to go to a gig at Heaton park. Although it's the other side of Manchester the journey to town was pretty simple and made even easier when the lovely owner, Paul, kindly offered to give me and my daughter a lift to the station. This was indicative of what a top bloke he was. From the initial phone call with Paul, to when we left the site a day later than planned due to how much we were enjoying it, he was incredibly accommodating and so helpful. His wife, Carla was also very friendly and they and their kids were always on hand to help with anything. I've seen, and had a laugh at some of the occasional negative reviews. In my opinion, other than the weather not being under his control, he did everything he could to make our stay amazing. If you let him know about a problem, like when the shower wasn't working, he was there in minutes and had it fixed. We had forgotten our pump to inflate our mattresses and got out his compressor immediately and had everything inflated in no time. He kindly allowed us to use one of his fire pits which made the setting perfect. This is a nice quiet site with no nonsense facilities. Basic, but clean and well maintained. He sells logs, kindling and fire lighters which you can click and collect at your convenience. Also available are chicken and duck eggs from the on site animals which live in a nice pond next to the campsite and dog park. Location is in a nice quiet rural location with a great farm shop just across the road and much more affordable options from a co-op 5 minutes drive and a larger Aldi 12 minutes drive away. Next door to the Aldi was a sensational sourdough pizza place called Rudy's that played great music including a heavy portion of classic Manchester bands on vinyl. Highly recommended from us ✌🏻

First time I’ve used a dog park for my Serenely Pawsitive clients (I run a pet sit and dog walking business) and I would thoroughly recommend Stretton Dog Park. My client loved it. Big area, lots to explore and climb on, secure fencing and gate and for when it rains a lovely cubby area with coffee machine for the humans. Now I know where this is, I will be booking again for those clients that need to burn off that energy but can’t be off lead on walks. The only thing I was unsure of was how to get in - think I went in the exit but I’ll figure it out for future use. Thanks for creating this 🐾

Liked: 2 lovely fields to choose from. Plenty of room for everyone. Lovely, peaceful site. Dog and family friendly but everyone was very respectful and quiet and there was no disturbing noise at all after 9pm.

Toilets very clean and the washing up area and cold fresh water tap were handy too. Great location, only minutes from the motor way.

Great place to relax for a weekend or a great base to go out for day trips or exploring near by attractions. We went wild swimming at Horse Shoe Falls (50 mins away) and had a great day. Lots of people paddleboarding there too.

You can park your car by your tent too which is always helpful.

There is a carbon sale at the site on a Sunday once a month. Tents needs to be packed away by 11am so the field can be used as a car park for visitors. You can keep your car on the site though and visit the cartoon sale if you wish. Worth bearing in mind if staying at the weekend or over weekend and into the week. Maybe ask before booking.

The owner is very friendly and helpful with great knowledge of the local area and attractions to visit. No question was too big or small.

We also ate out locally at The Partrige pub/restaurant which was amazing. The staff were super friendly and the food was outstanding.

We will definitely re-visit Stretton Hall Camping again and recommend it to single campers, couples and families. It's a great site for everyone.

Disliked: We had quite a few wasps around our tent but that's our fault for not taking anything with us to deal with them! It's part of being in the countryside and out in nature. It was also the hottest day of the year so to be expected but worth bearing in mind if you have kids....

This dog park is an absolute godsend! I have 3 large breed dogs, one who has zero recall, and two who are fear reactive to other dogs and strangers. They go to the park every day to blow off some steam while I sit and have a brew and charge my phone up in the shelter, it’s great! I have been using the park for a year now, the owners, Paul & Carla are absolutely lovely, they’re so approachable and always happy to help or just have a chat. They recently had to change the timings of bookings but were totally up front about it and happy to explain when I queried it. I wouldn’t use anywhere else! So a massive paws up and thank you from Thor,...
