Loved it first time with grand daughters since before lockdown. Was so exciting to be able to have them and take them out. There were a lot of dogs around as we were in the grassed area as obviously Park part not open. Unfortunately some dogs weren't on leads and kept running towards the girls and due to a previous bad experience with a dog off a lead in a different Park, scared them both so ended coming home. Nothing wrong with the dogs today just unfortunately one dog has scared them both. I have the luxury of time (retired) to visit places like the parks we are fortunate to have on our doorsteps, for me a pleasant stroll during the day , children at school, people at work and others probably still slumbering, gives the park a sense of calm, birds singing, a plane soaring high in the sky, it's vapour trail still showing from whence it came and my wondering where it's heading. Western Park has a plethora of wonderful trees and shrubs on offer for your visual delight, don't walk by without admiration for the wise people who have toiled (and paid for) to leave such a legacy for us all....
