A high point on the Dorset coastline, with superb views of dramatic chalk cliffs in both directions, and out to Portland. There's plenty of parking at the upper parking area for Ringstead. From here it's an exhilarating walk to White Nothe, with a fair climb to the summit. Much longer, more challenging walks would be possible from Durdle Door or Lulworth Cove, taking in significant elevation changes and spectacular coastal scenery. There's plenty to see on the route from Ringstead, including a row of coastguard cottages and the remains of military defensive structures overlooking the sea. There are no visitor facilities along the route, which helps keep the area remains unspoilt. For the more intrepid hikers there's a much more challenging path down to the beach, though I wouldn't recommend it for those with dogs or children, who would be better accessing Ringstead Bay from the easier path...
