The boat ride on the lake was wonderful and pleasant. You can hire a boat and sail it yourself in the lake to enjoy the breath taking waterworld view this lake offers.
Though we have to wait around 15 minutes to get the board but overall experience was pleasant. The nearby town offers plenty of food, coffee, souvenirs and gift shop outlet.
As this is a very popular tourist attraction, it can get crowded even during weekdays.

   Read moreAn incredibly scenic location, so relaxing. We were lucky to have sunshine, and the colours were stunning. We parked the car at Haverthwaite steam railway station and bought a combined train and boat ticket. The train takes you 20 minutes or so to Lakeside, the southernmost jetty on Lake Windermere, and stops literally on the jetty. Take the steamer to Bowness, about 50 minutes, have a couple of hours in Bowness, lots of nice restaurants, before rejoining the boat now heading south and the train back to the car. Cost: carpark £2, combined train and boat ticket £16.70 return....
