Itâs a nice farm with a small play area for children as well as a soft play area too. A range of different farm animals including alpacas, llamas, sheepâs, goats etc. I have given it 2 stars because of the lack of enthusiasm and support from staff. I have been to other farms before and will always see staff with all the animals helping children to stroke them and answering questions. When we went there was hardly any staff around the animals and so no one there to tell the children about the animals and how to safely stroke them. There was a pet holding hour as they called it where we could go see the rabbits and guinea pigs but the staff wouldnât actually let the children hold them which I understand but itâs a bit confusing when itâs called pet holding hour. The staff was also quite miserable and didnât interact with the children. As funny as it was when the goats kept trying to get over the fence for the food the children were scared and having staff there to help the children and assure them would have been a nice touch. To be honest even though this farm is really close to us we wonât be coming here again. Mead open farm in my opinion is a 100 times better. Hopefully if Woodside improve on these points we may consider coming back then.
Reply to Woodside - Of course, we visited on the 1st Nov at 12pm. Other than the points I mentioned everything else was a good experience. It just would have made it all much better with staff on site to explain a bit about the animals to...
Read moreNice little farm with cute and lovely animals. Price was a tad bit high for what was there but it's the times we live in now, I suppose! They had some cool little rides for the kids (and looked like they were building a skateboard ramp, it probably wasn't, but did look like it). It was a bit to hot and sunny to go on the tractor trailer around the farm as it wasn't covered but did look fun and everyone looked like they were enjoying it (I'm not sure the place was big enough to utilise the tractor as you could walk around the farm in 15 to 20mins easily). Lots and lots of hand wash stations with kid height sinks. I was touching every single animal so I washed at pretty much every station and the soap was always full, the paper towel was plentyfull and they all had kid-friendly directions on how to wash hands properly. The animals didn't look distressed (the donkey at the far end looked a bit sad but you give it a brush and it'll cheer up). Sadly, because everyone feeds the animals, they do come-a-begging, thinking everyone has food. It looked clean and didn't stink like a good old fashioned farm. Parking is very good (not on the suspension though) and it did look like the next door field is used for additional cars/mini busses/coaches etc.
All-in-all It was a good day out.
I would recommend to not use the M1 as there is ALWAYS an accident or conjestion. Take the A5 from Milton Keynes area. It's soooooo much quicker and less stressful!
Lastly, get your tickets online as its a...
Read moreI went today with my partner, as an autistic adult I felt such a connection to the animals and just being around them made my day, we went with no kids but there is tons of things to keep your kids entertained, we even had a go at the net swing ourselves! the animals are so gentle and seem to be very well looked after. The main attraction for me was the goats and llamas which is a shame in their shop they donât have many colour varietyâs for their goat plushies!! I wanted a black one to represent the little greedy goat I met and absolutely adored!! If anything could be improved I would say their plush/soft toy collection in the shop, personally whenever we go to a zoo or farm itâs nice to get something of an animal that stood out and soft toys are the best way for that đž All animals absolutely adorable, my partner held a 10 week old chick for the first time and he fell in love, itâs not just for kids but for adults who need abit more fun and freedom, I spent all morning talking to each animal and showing them love even if they were too shy to come to the fence.
I really will be coming here a lot more as the animals are just the sweetest, even the staff are friendly and...
