Zip World Betws-y-Coed — Attraction in Great Britain

Loved our experience here (Toboggan ride/rollercoaster rode). Entrance has a top car park which is £3.00 but only paid for via downloading an app. Quite a steep hill to walk up to the reception. Was dealt with swiftly & Reception lady was lovely & welcoming (didn't catch her nsme). Everything is explained & ate given 3 go's in riding in a cart (seatbelt) you can have 2 to a cart providing you don't exceed the weight limit. The 3 go's are taken straight after the other (rejoin the little queue for next turn) they do like you have yourself e turns with no waiting around. You are given the option of whether you want the experience recorded (not permitted to record your own using own equipment such as a phone etc) understandably so as the ride does speed at approx 25 miles so personally possessions must be fixed away otherwise will just get thrown about. You can prepay the camera along with booking but... On checking in we were given an access code to access the 3 videos for the 3 turns we had. Once each turn is taken you are given a receipt with a code on & told you can view all 3 and then decide which one you would like to download.... So, 4 receipts later... We scanned one of the QR code's from 1 of the 3 receipts from the ride. We had to enter the 1 time access code we were initially given at reception... But that 1 time access code will not be allowed to be used a second or third time to view the remaining 2 videos from your rides... I have emailed about this but can take up to 7 days to respond bg which time your time to access the videos will have ran out as only available to download for 7 days.

Overall the experience was fantastic & would certainly do that again, but: You do feel rushed & why the videos can't be designated to the one initial code your given from reception I don't know... Just frustrating when you've paid for the a video service (and you are only given half a video...if you want all of the video from start to finish of the ride you have to pay a further £8.00 for this- which you are not told about- only tells you via the website when you access the site to view your...

We recently visited Zip World at Betws-y-Coed and had a fantastic day out as a family. We went on the Forest Coaster and the Zip Safari, both of which were brilliant experiences.

Check-in at reception was fairly quick, although we did have to go through a few extra height checks for our 8-year-old daughter. We’d double-checked beforehand by both email and phone that her fingertip reach of 1.8m would be acceptable — which it was — but on the day, staff asked us to check it a few times before giving us our wristbands. While understandable for safety reasons, it felt a little over-cautious given the prior confirmations.

We’ve done the Forest Coaster before when our daughter was younger and loved it then, so it was great to go back now she’s older. It’s just as brilliant as we remembered — you get three turns and can go at your own speed. Our daughter loved whizzing down as fast as possible.

Next, we did the Zip Safari. There’s no age limit, but children must be able to reach 1.8m flat-footed, which our daughter could just about manage. Staff explained if she struggled on the lower section, she might not be allowed to continue — but she was absolutely fine. She confidently made her way around and didn’t struggle with any of the course.

Our instructor was fantastic — really funny, encouraging, and made sure everyone felt confident before moving onto the higher sections. The course took about two hours and, as it was so quiet, we didn’t feel rushed at all. We could take in the views and enjoy each part at our own pace. It’s a fairly challenging course, high up in the trees, but so much fun. Our daughter was fearless — doing the zip lines with no hands by the end!

We didn’t eat on-site this time, but did grab a coffee and hot chocolate, which sadly weren’t great, especially for the price.

Previously, we’ve also done the Nets and the tree hoppers course here a few years back, and those were both excellent too. Now we’re planning on visiting the other zip world sites.

Overall, a fantastic family day out. It’s quite pricey but...

Zip World Betws-y-Coed is more than just a place for a single thrill ride; it's a full-day adventure park nestled in the stunning scenery of the Gwydir Forest. We visited with our family and were blown away by the variety of activities on offer, each one perfectly integrated into the beautiful woodland setting.

The star of the show for us was the Fforest Coaster. It's truly a one-of-a-kind experience. You are pulled up a track slowly, which gives you plenty of time to take in the breathtaking forest views, before you get to control your own speed on the way down. The track twists and turns through the trees, giving you a real feeling of being on a thrilling alpine toboggan. Getting three rides with one ticket is fantastic, as it allows you to get more confident and go faster with each run.

Beyond the coaster, we also spent time on the Treetop Nets, which is a surprisingly fun and energetic activity. Bouncing around on huge trampolines suspended high in the trees feels surreal and is a great way for both kids and adults to burn off some energy. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, making sure everyone was safely kitted out and understood the instructions.

The location itself is perfect. There's a cafe on-site for a well-deserved refuel, and the park is a short walk from Betws-y-Coed town centre if you want to explore more. Whether you're an adrenaline junkie or just looking for a unique family day out, Zip World Betws-y-Coed delivers on all fronts.
