This place is a hell hole for animals. The enclosures for the animals are far too small and don’t mimic their natural habitat at all, it seems the owners don’t care about the animals and are all about profits! And it shows.! The enclosures need serious updating and more greenery, the animal all need much more space so are they going to expand it? And why was there no food or treats given the whole time my sisters were there? The poor animals look so sad and bored, very under-stimulated, I don’t agree with zoos of any kind especially ones that house wild cats and animals in small enclosures. They cannot express themselves fully as they would in the wild. Why has no animal welfare people come to check this place?, places like this are purely about profit, it’s a prison for under stimulated animals. Any true animal lover would prefer to admire these beautiful animals from afar or on their televisions, not go to zoos of any kind as it’s just enabling the problem. Unless these animals have been recused from abuse, they shouldn’t be locked up for our amusement, I’d never visit any type of zoo, especially one as awful as this one. This is not a wildlife park made by an animal lover, this is just greed. I would not recommend this place if you are true animal lover as it’s just so utterly sad. All the animals look so bored & just under-stimulated, no toys or anything in the enclosures. Please can we not promote places like this as all animals have a right to live free away from human gawking and hands. They deserve their dignity and to be well cared for, unlike this place which is a misery prison camp for innocent animals. It needs to be seriously updated and made bigger but ideally shut down and the animals go to a sanctuary where they provide the care, love and...

I took my friend, who is disabled and uses a large powered wheelchair.

It was a first visit for both of us. Accessibility was good on the whole, but there were a few challenging sections that we probably wouldn't attempt again, although we both talked about going again, but modifying our routes, so if you bring pushchairs or large wheelchairs, pick your routes carefully, as it can be difficult to change your mind and go back.

The bridged waterway walk was very difficult for my friend to navigate due to lots of tight drops and turns...fine for small pushchairs or smaller wheelchairs.

The raised walkways do have a one way system, but a few poorly placed no entry signs (between the Gibbons and Crocodile exhibits) did lead to several people being confused, going in the wrong direction and having difficulty passing those of us that were going the correct way.

We loved how many of the large cats and apes had several enclosures interconnected with permanent walkways, some going over the pathways.

Viewing areas were clean with clear lines if sight to the animals. (Plenty of shade, shelter and hideouts available for the animals).

Most of the exhibits allow viewing from level ground and also on elevated walkways.

I like that Thrigby offers a small but wide selection of very well cared for animals in spacious and well designed enclosures. Some of the plants are well established creating a lovely atmosphere.

Thrigby isn't a huge zoo, but has plenty to offer families, groups or individuals with play areas, picnic areas, cafe and refreshments etc, all at...

We visited here today for the first time and as a lover of all animals this place didn't disappoint! It was easy to book online and the lady scanned the barcode at the entrance- super quick and hassle free. They have a big grass car parking area with lots of spaces not far from the entrance.

The animals all looked really well looked after, happy and content. The enclosures all were clean and plenty of enrichment to see. You can really get up close to the animals here- amazing to experience been so close to a tiger.

Really unique having different walk ways and tree top walks- something I've never seen at other places and it made it quite fun. Great for photography too.

We enjoyed a look in the gift shop (rather reasonably priced) and we also both commented on how clean the ladies toilets were with plenty of loos to choose from! We didn't visit the cafe so can't comment but they did have one if you fancied buying some lunch. There was also loads of picnic benches all around the park which was nice to see.

We chose not to bring the mobility scooter after reading others reviews- the paths were flat in places but quite tight/narrow and quite steep/slopey in parts. There was people there using wheelchairs but I wouldn't say the whole place was 100% Disabled friendly and you could see some people struggling at times. But there was plenty of places to sit down along the way which we found very handy and helpful.

Overall a fabulous day out and we would...

I get that it's easy calling it "hall", but don't fall for that. The hall itself isn't accessible to the public! It's really a zoo and few gardens, but I am still happy with that. Got to see a tiger from up close, and a leopard leaping on a tree branch for his lunch. And the porcupine was is really good to see even though on the second walk around, he wasn't anywhere to be seen. And I REALLY appreciate how you can in the tree branches between exhibits and really see even the leopards and monkey. They have the freedom to move through a tunnel between AT LEAST 2 exhibits. I thought the the parrots would say SOMETHING, but no. That's still fine. And they have an indoors forest and tropical area with mostly crocodiles and few BIG snakes. I nearly missed the area behind tigers with smaller wild cats, don't forget it's there! Overall, enjoyed. Just if you don't have a car, DON'T visit on a Sunday. It's in the middle of nowhere and there are NO buses. So much for the public transport on the weekend. Spent about 3.5hours there and probably could a bit more. Definitely recommended. There's even a small play area for children.

We went as a family and had a wonderful 5 hours here. We saw all the animals and loved every bit of it. We saw the feeding of the Leopards and Crocodiles which was really interesting. It was great to see the crocodiles as I've never seen a real one and here there were loads. You should put more online about that because there are lots of places that have the other animals but not crocodiles. Loved all the birds we saw I'd not seen many of them. Loved the Tree shrews, and different squirrels they have here especially the Red Panda, loved seeing him move around and such a great closure for him very open and free like. Lovely areas and bridges to walk across very peaceful. They have plenty of picnic tables to eat at or a field to sit down. Also a cafe to eat in. Ice creams are sold here, quite expensive though. Gift shop which is quite reasonable priced. Toilets are nice and clean just need a few more I think. They have 3 areas for the children to play. 2 are like parks and other is a big thick rope to play on or walk. This is brilliant my children loved playing on all areas. I would definitely come again!!
