The images don't do it justice. IMPORTANT to notice that the bus can go all the way to the beach but apparently, as of 2024, you have to make the request. We were waiting there at 3 o clock and the bus never came to the beach, however at the next one did go to the beach. We called the bus company and they said it normally stops at the intersection with the main road and, again, only goes to the beach if requested. If you're planning to take the bus back from the beach, it may be worth chatting with the company or planning to be at the main road by the phone box at the time...
Read moreThe day was overcast with rare bursts of sunshine, usually on the opposite shore; there was wind and it was cool enough to need wool hats and sweaters. It did not matter. Looking at such incredible beauty - there are not enough words. The beach is pristine, gleaming as though no human had ever been there. We went wading, got blue toes from the cold water, and laughed as we kicked up the shallows. We took so many pictures and trying to pick out the best is next to impossible. i wish i could go back again and again. No one could ever tire of that...
Read moreLuskentyre Beach is on the Isle of Harris in Scotland. We visited with our campervan, and it is the most beautiful beach we have ever seen. The sand is white and clean, and we even saw Scottish cows nearby. The beach is very big, so even when there are other people, it feels quiet. Even in bad weather, the water is a clear blue color. The beach faces the Atlantic Ocean, which makes the views even more special.
