Visited here since the early noughties. My early experiences of this forest - as a timid, sheltered ten year old scout - filled me with nerves and unease, as I was expected to participate in wide games in the hours of darkness. All in the name of scouting! Though Baden Powell would have been less than amused at some of the tricks older scouts played on their younger counterparts... I digress. Fortunately, more recent visits have taken place in daylight and have been far more pleasurable. The paths are easy to navigate and the forest is peaceful without feeling isolated.
