Where to begin. Feel a bit down and a bit cheated really. After coming to Robin Hill first as a child myself but latterly as a father of two and with our In-laws too - a family of seven reliving memories of yesteryear and hoping to make new ones.
So pleased that a buyer was found and that it had reopened. We immediately bought season tickets out of support a good many months before coming.
However, our new experience would be best described as flat. Not teething problems now but actual issues which need addressing.
I don't post this as an expert in theme parks but rather the leader of a large organisation. It is not that things go wrong but rather what you do to address them.
*I have yet to see a clean toilet. I can't confirm when they are cleaned. Most are now hideous portaloos.
*All bar one member of staff encountered were either gruff, curt or simply ill informed.
*New additions were poorly managed. The time waiting could be much shorter with simple changes.
*The park and it's equipment is seriously in need of a clean. Dusty, sticky and covered in detritus.
*After speaking to staff on restaurant closing times, to arrive 40 minutes before closing to be told the only food on offer was chips. At seriously high prices.
*Great to have a Cheeky Monkey back in town. The ray of sunshine in a challenged visit.
*Do no go to the Adrenaline Zone. It should be called the mick take zone. Again, the staff could do with some customer service and interactive skills. They are the brand ambassadors and what people remember.
*£10 for a single ride on anything is capitalism at its worst. 30 seconds in length. Avoid Zoom. Please.
*The bird display was good as ever but it felt down at heel and a bit uncomfortable in terms of additional asks for money...
I could go on about the diggers needing a rethink; the boats being wildly oversubscribed; the wobbly bridge to the sky nets.
My hope is that the new team behind this have a phased plan to rethink their strategy and that this was rushed to open for the summer season.
There is a great venue here. A great asset to the Island, but it needs a lot of love and a lot of thought to be...
Read moreIt should be called Robin you blind, paid £23.99pp to walk around a field with playground equipment in. Once your in the park they charge you £2 for the toboggan slide then a further £40.97 for the adrenaline zone if you do all the courses. Whilst waiting for the toboggan slide we noticed a group that kept jumping the que, when I questioned they said a member of the group was registered disabled which gave them priority to jump the Que, that wasn’t a problem but the same group being allowed to jump in front of us 3 times was. I tried calling the park to ask what I had paid for whilst still being onsite to someone rejecting my call, definitely not suitable for over 12 year olds more for toddlers. The young girl who was working on the hotdog & buger hut tried over charging us so asked to see a manger to be told there isn’t one, went to the other side of the hut where you received your food & asked them for a manger & boom we had one come straight to us, he apologised & blamed it on the top managers for not putting it correctly on the tills. We then went back to this same young girl who then charges us £2 for a £1.50 bottle of water that was on there price board, when we asked for our change she gave attitude. Never have I felt so ripped off as much as I did going here today, we were a party of 10 & not one of us enjoyed our visit & I did ask for a manager so I could complain but was told no one could come just send an email. Please see photos of the map they provide that doesn’t tell you there’s hidden extra costs once your...
Read moreOver priced ticket. As 69pounds for family of 4. 4D cinema seems closed all day. The film is China wall. Could you find any fun movie, Like Alton tower presents ice age, or Disney land studio 4 love story? The pirate ship( I forgot its name) and cow train in a close, went in and came out, use same path. Small village house, just few tiny houses there. The tower, it is just walk up tower, on top of the tower, you will see the same landscape as what you can see at bottom of the tower. I am not sure why the tower built here? Maybe it was an view point for WWII? Roman information kiosk with few info there. But the villa ancient site was not clearly pointed out. Wow, a huge bounce castle, need to pay 3 quid per person, for 15 mins. We then went to the toboggan ride, another pay for 1.5 per person. . After that, we went to falconry show, two not very successful trained falconry lazy to fly and catch food. Finally, the skywalk lead us to the last point. The tree top trail finished our trip. 69 pounds, only two free ride, walk along all the way just 2 hours. Lucky, it has 7 days unlimited re-entry. We went to the place again after 2 days. My daughter and son went to the pirate ship again, ride 5 times. When I ask them, shall we go? Do not you guys felt bored for 5 times of same ride? They ask me one question, where should we go? This is the only free ride, the cow train breakdown, so we get more people on the pirate...
