I will start by saying I was slightly apprehensive about this before, but I can say this is an amazing experience!

Firstly finding the place. I initially drive past it a few times before I used the what3words location. I would advise you use it as it took me straight to it! The post code will only get you to the village and by that point you have too far.

Our trek guide (unfortunately I didn't catch her name) was amazing. She spent about half an hour in the barn explaining all about the alpacas and llamas, we got to meet all the animals and they really did have completely different personalities. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and answered any question that was asked. Personally I found Tim to be the funniest one. He kept trying to break out of the pens. After meeting all the animals we were paired with our animals for the walking part of the experience.

Please Note: I did read the email about wearing boots and I did take what I believed to be acceptable shoes, oh how wrong would I have been. Lucky for me they have 'Rent-a-wellies'! At £2, they are a bargain and well worth while, take it from me!

I was lucky enough to be paired with Rohan. He was so easy to handle for a novice. He is an amazing animal so calm and caring. I am sure he was sussing me out initially, but by the end of the walk he was cuddling up to me (which was very cute).

I would highly recommend this experience to anyone, young or old and anything in-between. You will get the chance to get up close and personal with these majestic animals and have a life changing experience.

Thank you Suzanne and team for a...

When our daughter expressed her desire of wanting to walk with llamas, I thought the idea was a bit weird but then....why not? The three hour option was chosen and booked on-line. Charlotte greeted us and introduced us to several llamas and alpacas. My daughter was matched with Trevor and my wife and I were matched with Steve (who we shared)

We did a lovely, picturesque circuit, and despite the wintery temperatures, got to interact with these very well behaved, characterful llamas along the way. We walked up a lane bordering a big herd of llamas and saw the fascinating interactions between our two and the herd the other side of the fence. Hilarious!

It was amazing to hear how knowledgeable Charlotte is. Not only does she recognise each by name, she knows all the details about each one of them. From when each was born, their individual personalities and specific traits. This is most definitely her vocation and these animals are in the best hands.

Hats off to you Charlotte and of course, the owner of the business, Susanne who have such high animal welfare standards.

An unforgettable experience and one HAPPY daughter with lots of cute photos (for Instagram) to take away as...

What a fantastic afternoon we had meeting the llamas and alpacas! It was a wonderful experience, made more so by the knowledge and enthusiasm of our guide Jess who was so dedicated in her role. It was clear how much she really loved and cared for the animals. We were celebrating our Ruby anniversary and the whole experience made it a very special day. We had Rohan the llama (very affectionate and gorgeous) and Alan the alpaca (cute and cheeky). Both were a total joy to take for a walk in the beautiful countryside. We were joined by Charlotte on the walk who like Jess totally dedicated and enthusiastic. It is certainly an experience to remember and one we would like to repeat but do a longer trek next time! We cannot recommend this experience enough. Thank you all and of course Rohan and Alan for being so good...

Booked a 1.5-mile farm walk , we were met by Charlotte, who was very knowledgeable and introduced us to the Llamas and Aplacas that would walk with us. After learning more about the animals , we partnered up with an Alpaca, and the walk commenced. It's a lovely gentle stroll around the farm fields, magnificent views, and back to the barn to finish. The Alpacas were very well behaved and friendly even if they did have the odd headstrong moment! At the end we were offered a drink and a piece of cake. There are toilets at the start and end of the walk as well as handwashing facilities. Throughly recomend this activity. We also stopped off at the Wellington pub in Darley for a late lunch after. We'd recomend that also.

Brilliant day out with my mum and niece. We have never met Llamas or Alpacas before but been fascinated since seeing guard Llamas in local farmers fields. The animals were beautiful and had lovely temperament and personality, nobody got spat at - apparently it rarely happens! The staff are superb, very knowledgeable about the different breeds and types of Camelids as well as husbandry and the fibre they produce when sheared. They are obviously very dedicated animal lovers, the staff we met knew not just the names but the personalities of every Llama & Alpaca and the small animals too. Would definitely recommend to anybody and will be booking again in the future. Thank you Nidderdale Llamas !!!
