Found easily by following postcode SK17 6GJ This will take you down a small country road and to the sailing club. You can't obviously park there, but you can along the road literally 100 yards away, and it's free.. A fairly small reservoir that when it's low you can see the remains of the old village. Some remnants are laying around in parts of the edge showing old bottles and bowls that have been found underwater. No toilets or cafe available.. Walks around include fields, forest and road. Still quite low at the moment, but filling slowly.... ( nov 2022 ). Worth a visit, and a good place to start for longer walks if required..

Though it may not have been the picturess location at the moment, as sure to the dry spell it has left the water levels considerably lower than normal. Though on a positive note, you get to see what the lady of the land was prior to the region being flooded, which I found very interesting. Not much in the way of facilities here so be sure to take a drink.

Fantastic walk around the reservoir and the surrounding hills and Goyt Valley. Well worth the trip. The is a mix of road, off road and pure wild terrains to explore along with fairly flat to steep walks (nothing close to a mountain tho!) The scenes are there to be had.

Simply amazing!!! I've been there many many times. Its full of peace and tranquility.

Tip: just at a 5 minute drive ahead of errwood parking there is an amazing , wonderful waterfall in a valley called" Goyt valley ". Its extremely beautiful. To get to waterfall its not an ideal path for kids however half way down there is a suitable place for picnic.kids can play in shallow water .it's safe. Check videos on youtube stating...

I am so fortunate to live 10 minutes away from the beautiful Goyt valley where the Errwood and Fernilee reservoirs are located. I visit these areas daily to walk my dog come rain or shine. I never ever get bored as there is always something to spot whether it is wild flowers or birds or deer, the scenery is breath taking I am so lucky to have all of this on...
