I visited the exhibition on March 3rd of this year because I had watched an Accrington Stanley football match that afternoon and had some time beforehand. I arrived before opening time and therefore had time to stroll through the adjacent park. It was very relaxing and I occasionally took a break to look at the monuments and read through the information. The exhibition opened at 12 noon. I was greeted warmly at the entrance and was able to leave my bag there. The exhibition was very interesting and beautifully designed. Read moreStunning Arts and Crafts building, housing the largest collection of Tiffany Glass in Europe, as well as 18th-19th Century paintings. The gallery hosts regular contemporary art exhibitions, including photography by the local camera club, and arts and crafts workshops for both adults and children.
The beautiful house and gardens, including the original rose garden, make the venue popular for weddings, and the gallery also has a programme of live music and performing arts events, and a cafe. The grounds also feature artists' studios in the former stables, and a memorial to the Accrington Pals, a replica of the one found in in Serre, France.

Read moreSituated in a lovely park just south of Accrington Town Centre, the Haworth Art Gallery is a must see - and the premier attraction of Hyndburn District with its' display of beautiful iridescent Tiffany Glassware. As well as the Tiffany Glass, this small gallery also has a selection of equally beautiful paintings on display. If you are hungry, try to get a place at the onsite Gallery Kitchen (beware, it can be very popular), for some delicious grub, & you can finish your visit with a gift from the Gallery Shop. The staff are friendly, as well as knowledgeable, & I would definitely recommend Haworth Art Gallery as a half day trip - and repeated trips just to sit & admire the art in one of the galleries - or the scenery outside ! Oh, and the Gallery is free to enter too...
