Brilliant fun. As a family of 5, we did SUP first which was fun for all of us, though the 6yr old didn’t need his own board in the end, he just sat on one of ours happily enough. It was a tad windy which made it harder but that’s just the luck of the weather on the day. It was still fun.
Now for the main event. The warrior and wipeout inflatable courses. With our wetsuits already on from the paddle boarding, we had a cuppa and a snack and watched others on the courses, then we went to the induction area, 30mins before our slot, for getting our life vest and helmets. Then we watched the safety video and the fun began.
Our 6y/o was just over the 120cm minimum height so he was good to go. And amongst all the big kids and adults he was perfectly fine and happy. He did the bits he wanted to do and avoided the big slides and jumps. There’s also staff/lifeguards on the courses to supervise too.
So, after the induction, the first part is getting in the actual lake. There’s a great jumping platform or you can go to an area to just walk in. I wanted to jump but little man was too scared so we walked in (I was secretly gutted but Dad duties took priority). He was timid with walking in but I just lifted him by the vest and walked him in. After a few seconds he was perfectly fine (pheww I thought).
So we all swam over to the first inflatable course and proceeded to have tonnes of fun and laughs. The lake water wasn’t bad at all, we’d opted for wetsuits though, you can do it without a wetsuit but I think everyone in our group were wetsuited up. And the grippy socks were good too, more grip of course but also helped keep your feet warm!
30mins on the first area and then 30mins on the other. There’s slides, high jumps, climbing walls and obstacles and monkey bars, a swing, and trampolines. It was all brilliant fun. Some of the jumps are canny high too, you’ve got to land feet first or get a nice water slap!!
In conclusion, it’s highly recommended. We’re going back next week in fact.
The initially timid 6 y/o said afterwards “that was the best day of my life”. Says it all really!
The staff were all great, the facilities are lovely and clean. Toilets, changing areas, cafe. Free parking. You can leave your car keys in the reception building for a £2 fee because you’ll fall in the lake!!
Get yourselves there for a fantastic memorable time. It’s a...

Waiver or consent forms must be completed online. There's no way to do this in person at the reception desk.
There's no free internet available to complete the consent or waiver forms at the water park. It is advisable to book tickets and complete waiver forms when you have good reception or internet. The group in front of us in the queue did not have any internet reception on their phones at reception and were panicking about being late for their activities because they did not complete their consent forms and this is a requirement before taking part in any activity.
Sign outside reception says, please complete waiver forms online to save time, but it is not possible to complete waiver forms in any other way than online. Now I have that out of the way, the rest is all good news.
I went for an open water swim, kayaking, zip wire, climbing wall and we stayed in the motorhome part of the campsite for the weekend. All of these activities were extremely well maintained and clean. Safety and quality of activities was excellent.
One small minor comment I had was that anybody could drive up to the water park and use the shower and toilet facilities without having to pay any fees to use any of the facilities which can potentially be a security or safety problem, although they do have very good CCTV covering the property. During daytime hours anybody could drive in to the water park and nobody is there to check tickets and the restaurant and bar areas available to the public which is right next to the changing and family changing toilets and facilities and the doors to these are left open which makes it very convenient, but I would definitely keep an eye on my kids as everyone should do anyway at all times in public areas.
Bottom line core advice, book your activities before you arrive and complete all your consent forms before arriving at the reception. Then check into all your activities to collect your wristbands and then you should be good to go to enjoy the rest of your day...
Read moreBrilliant place to visit with children very reasonably priced however the briefing information before you arrive was very vague the process of collecting wetsuits and other paraphernalia was a little bit unclear, reception staff very busy lots of people jumping the queue to ask questions they should have asked when they were booking in this was quite time consuming and they'll standing in the queue often delayed by people jumping the queue asking questions which we found quite annoying considerably time wasn't on our hands. We were slightly late this was due to the above and very difficult traffic conditions on the way down through the notable Yorkshire villages which couldn't be avoided. Most of the staff were great however the staff that were in charge of getting the customers onto the inflatables or somewhat challenging after trying to explain that I have two children to get onto the inflatables but we had been running late due to the above etc etc I was met with quite a sharp reply. I just put this down to the fact it was hot and it was really busy. My husband and I then went to the cafe close by and sat down one thing I did find concerning is that they don't allow picnic's and they would prefer you to buy from their shop which is somewhat expensive and some families can't afford this. The ice cream parlour that was on site had broken freezers still charging full price for somewhat reflection of ice cream which I found quite disappointing. I would still recommend going however I would take note of the above and I would still take a picnic and pop sit in the car and eat it the food in the cafe is someone expensive. I would also recommend arriving 45 minutes earlier...
