Lamb feeding is very lovely, you usually cant do it at other farm parks and if you do you often have to pay, sand pit was a hit for my son, but needs more than 1 spade and 2 spoons... The animals are are friendly and can touch them.
However I used to come as a child and was excited to bring mine, this is not the same place, literally everything has gone and changed and moved place, so sad as it was the most incredible place. The play area used to be incredible. There was little shops my mum used to love pottering around in. The animals were so lovely, great choice, lots of them, and spacious and out in the open and clean. Cows in open barns and black and pink pig families running around. A beautiful big reception gift shop with cafe off of it.
Now I get that things change over time, but everything has been ripped out and gone, and what's been left is a large lodge which is the reception, dining area and toilets and everything is really cramped, was a long time to queue for food.
It took us about 20 mins to look at the animals, but the worst bit of the whole experience was they look cramped and sad, one of each in a few cases. The cows looked sad all stuffed in and had poo all over them. There was 1 pig roaming. A dog in a kennel. All the animals cramped into one small area. My Dad kept asking me, are you sure this is it? The play area was as good as a pub but with 2 frames instead of one, and a big sandpit area which was the best bit. So very sad, this place used to be better than any farm park I'd ever been to, and now I'm sad to say it is the opposite and over priced. I understand the deer safari is very good, we didn't use it as I knew my son wouldn't sit still for 45mins, and thankfully were gifted our tickets, I wouldn't go again personally, as i dont like to see the animals in small pens cramped and dirty. Very expensive for what is there (if you're payjng) in my opinion.
We had a brownie from the cafe, which was delicious. The lamb feeding...
Read moreThis place is somewhat rundown. The tractors for children playing are broken some without pedal and unsafe. This feels like a working farm wanting to make some additional money, but the staff definitely did not want the hassel of dealing with the public. No public interaction or explanation of what goes on on a working farm. We were encouraged to buy goat food, but we’re only able to feed the adult goats, of which there were only two. My son picked up a little straw to feed the lambs and got told off for picking it up due to it being dirty. The staff were cleaning an awful wound to a sheep in the middle of the lambing barn where the public were and then when the children started looking out of curiosity, they then got shirty, told the children off and moved people on, a job that should probably have been done out of the public realm!! The Guinea pigs and rabbits were in cages in the corner of a barn, you could look but not touch. We thought the children could collect eggs but there was no sign of this activity either. The ‘trail’ was unmarked and so muddy that even walking boots didn’t cut it. Disappointing, very small and the public are very much an after thought! The play equipment was good but not worth the £25...
Read moreMixed feelings about this place. Car parking is fine and free. Entrance fee is expensive at £8 per adult, £5 would be a more acceptable price. Under 3 years go free, thats good. One way system through the entrance but then there are no one way signs, so people just go where they want, social distancing was rubbish. Feed the goats was good and there is a good mix of animals for the youngsters to see. Staff are friendly, one washing facility on site (apart from loos) only hand sanatizer I saw was at the entrance. Didnt try the deer safari, need to pay more for that. We ate in the car with our picnic as there is not enough outside seating for the amount of visitors they allow in and again, people seem to ignore social distancing? We would come again, possibly midweek hoping less people would be there, but have to consider the entry cost for the hour and half you only need there. There is a child adventure play area, but again that was busy and social distancing whilst looking after younger ones using this facility is difficult, oh and you can get round with a pushchair, but it helps if you have a 4 wheel drive one. On the whole if its not busy and it was a fiver to get in its a good destination for under tens for a...
