Great beach and local walks with or without dogs. From the boathouse car parking the elevated walkway gives great views over marsh and inland. Variety of birds to see and hear. Option to go further to beach and Cafe shop run by Norfolk Wildlife Trust or turn back inland up over the boardwalk to Drove Orchards shops, pizza in the yurt or Eric’s, a fish and chip restaurant with a difference. From Drove Orchard there is a grassland walk through the new jubilee meadow to village hall then back to the harbour along Staithe Lane. There is no local light so take a torch if going later in the day. Make sure you check tide times as car park areas and road can flood...

Thornham has a lovely coastal path, which leads to the nature reserve near Holme. You can access the beach by going straight on at the last bend as it hooks right. From here you can travel right to the estuary, when at low tide you can cross and work your way to the local Thornham walk. If you go left Hunstanton is about 4 miles, where you can grab the coastal hopper back. Close to the coal barn you have the Life Boat, and just around the corner the Orange Tree, both excellent for lunch. The path is a good walk around a mile, and if you time it at high tide you’ll witness all the...

Absolutely stunning, very peaceful, well worth a visit.

Worth noting before you go -

For anybody thinking of walking with little people, the beach is a fair walk.

There is a small car park right at the end of the road but be mindful that the tide comes in the road floods! If you aren’t aware of this then you are likely to get stuck and have to wait for the tide to go back out, or run the risk of ruining your car in the sea water. See photo below of the road which is flooded. There is a car park is at the end.

It’s nice and quiet even in the height of the summer months...

There is plenty of parking BUT check for high tides! Very popular with dog walkers but lots of break out places to sit and contemplate sunsets. If you love a wild water swim many go in when the tides in. The best walk is to follow the ridge towards the woodland and after 20 minutes peel off down some wooden stairs towards sand dunes and discover a huge sandy beach when the tide is out.
