On the way home from a few days away, we saw a sign on the side of the road for this place and decided to visit and I'm really glad we did! We seemed to arrive at the same time as about 8 other cars which we took as a good sign! Entry price is a very reasonable £10 for adults and £7 for children and an optional bucket of sheep and goat food is available for £1. On entry, staff talked through the additional safety measures in place with regards to Covid-19, including some one way systems and available hand and surface wash. There was enough antibac to sink a battleship dotted about and a very natural one way system so we had no concerns about any of this. Some areas, particularly through the owl enclosures at the start, were a little snug so keeping a good distance from others proved a little tricky but nothing to be concerned about. All the larger or farm animals looked relaxed and content and to be in well spaced, secure, comfortable looking enclosures. There were some additional spaces under construction towards the end of the trail which suggested either some new animals, or a change of home for the current occupants and I'd certainly be up for another visit to see the changes. The park is clearly well looked after and provides lots of space for the animals and those who visit. There were a number of outside picnic benches to sit at and a small cafe area (although I believe they were only doing take out options currently). The also had a indoor eating area if you had taken your own lunch. Overall, I am really pleased we decided to take a detour and visit as we had a very enjoyable couple...
Read moreWe were pleasantly surprised by this little find. A beautifully kept and clean visitor attraction. Animals all appeared well cared for. Staff lovely. Had a lovely tea room area as well as outside seating and a gift shop. They obviously invest in regular improvements to the farm. Disabled access, toilets and and mobility scooters available free of charge. Handfasting facilities and sanitizer available throughout the whole farm and disinfectant pads to walk over on regularly to keep infection rates to a minimum which again shows animals and birds welfare is very important. Visitors are able to enter enclosures with newborn lambs and kids (the furry kind) and interact with the newborns which was just joyous (and we were 4 adults- no children). Largest collection of beautiful owls I have ever seen. We had lovely weather which always helps but the animals have nice stables, undercover for public too if it rains. We also witnessed staff weighing animals, trimming hooves , overseeing excitable children in the newborn animal enclosures and ongoing building work (not while it was open) which all points towards good animal welfare. Highly recommend this attraction, we had a lovely day. Oh, and there was...
Read moreWe visited on a very blustery, rainy day in August, with social distancing still in place, wondering whether it would be worth it. It was FANTASTIC. This place oozes care and love, you can feel it in every inch of the beautiful grounds, the thoughtfulness of the design, the friendliness of the staff and the relaxed calm of the animals. Even on a horrible day there were lots of opportunities to get up close to the animals (OK mainly the goats, but they were great) and we all loved it. There really are a lot of owls, too, which is pretty amazing. There was hand sanitiser everywhere and thoughtful (but not officious) one-way systems and safety measures, like limitations on the no of people in certain spaces, which occasionally meant waiting until another family had finished. We felt very comfortable. As a parent (we have a 4 and 7 year old) you often visit these places and some of them feel like a rip-off with the displays not as advertised, hyped-up entertainments, random displays etc. This really didn't, we felt cared for and welcomed, and loved every second. Would definitely return here, and would recommend it. A big thank you to the owners and staff for creating such a...
