There’s no official carpark, so not being from the area it was a bit confusing, but you just park on the side of the road. From what I’d expected from the other reviews, I thought there would be staff around, but there didn’t seem to be. You just let yourself in and onto the field in your slot. I did tick that my dog was reactive - he’s not aggressive just very excited so this could have been why but no email or anything was received explaining or addressing this or what amendments would be made as a result or ticking that box. We were in the training park, which the refreshment hut isn’t accessible from, and is located in the bigger park which was occupied, so I believe you’d need to book the bigger park to access that. Can only comment on the training park but there was just 2 small tunnels which are a bit battered and dirty (obviously it’s a dog park so that’s to be expected), some sticks in the ground and a small wooden hurdle. My pup did really enjoy it though and liked being off lead and exploring. I’d say 30 mins goes by quick (though we were slightly late due to trying to figure out parking) so may be worth booking a longer slot. There’s some woods and a lot of greenery nearby for a walk / before or after if your dog is up for it. Wasn’t what I expected, hence my reason for leaving a review, it kind of felt a bit like an abandoned dog park haha but the dog had a good time which is what matters, just felt a little underwhelming for me. However, it is the first dog park I’ve visited and I did book the...
Read moreWe came here for a reunion of our Husky cross breed dogs and their puppies as it was a local and convenient location for us all.
The field is located by the side of a windy downhill road so I would advise parking facing UP the hill to avoid accidents from people coming down the hill too fast (I come this way home from work so I know how hard it is to stick to the 30mph speed limit).
Anyway, onto the actual field.
The field is a very good size and, for the price we paid (£18 for 7 dogs in total), was even better! The owners were also happy to chat with us and were really interested in the breed. On site there is also a cabin where you can buy drinks/treats to keep you going.
There are enough activities to train your dog with if that is your intention: Hurdles Agility weaving poles Seesaw (not suitable for human use!)
And obviously water for dogs is also supplied and refilled (our dogs drank it all as soon as they got there).
Finally, and I think this is the most important part, the owner was aware of recent parvo outbreaks in Bradford and advised us how to prevent a spread and what to do when cleaning up after your dog.
A side note is that the field is adjacent to a public footpath so you may get people walking by... In our case this caused an outbreak of barking as our dogs are very protective of their turf - you can see the footpath as either a good thing or a bad thing depending on your situation. It doesn't effect my opinion on going back again though.
Pudsey Dog Park, we'll see you...
Read moreWas made to feel like an outsider and embarrassed this evening due to my dog not getting on with a couple of the other dogs. The lady with the long blonde hair embarrassed me in front of everyone and wasn't kind to me at all. I was left standing with my dog on his lead without her saying dont worry he can have his turn to run around. I mentioned to my friend i was leaving as my dog wasnt getting anything out of the evening. The lady who owns the park came up to us both to ask how we were and i said i was leaving as i was made to feel embarrassed and my dog was just on his lead. As I left a golden retrievar tried to fight with my dog to which my dog retaliated and fought back. The lady who owns it said oh there you see, there you see. I wasn't even apologised to say sorry it didn't work out or anything. Not even a goodbye. Really upset about the whole incident and won't be booking again more so because of the way the ladies handled the whole situation. Seems to me there is favoritism for those that have been going awhile. Plus for the record any dog might not get on with other dogs and vice versa which on this occasion blaming his breed openly to others present has got nothing to do with it as he goes to doggy day care regularly with no issues! Quite a narrow minded...
