A beautiful nature reserve right on the estuary. It offers quiet and tranquil walking routes either along the river which will take you to Benfleet or along the various routes crossing the reserve. There is plenty of parking either at the entrance to the reserve or right at the very end of the road where you can also launch river vessels, canoes/dinghies/motor boats etc into the water (charge). There are lots of birds to watch as well as the traffic on the river. You will also be able to see Hadleigh castle in the distance.
