We had a lovely time at the maize. The site is very close to the roman site at Wall, if you wanted something else in the area too. We booked onto a quiet early morning session, which was lovely for us - not busy or noisy. The lady said they have had 2-300 people in the middle of the days! On arrival there is the ticket office, gift shop, and ice-cream stand. The chocolate ice-cream came in a little tub with a spatula, was a good size to share, and was very tasty! Toilets provided are portaloos but they were very clean. This is the only thing I'd change - actual toilets with a sink and taps. But they did provide hand sanitizer and it is in the middle of a field so maybe I'm being a bit picky. An area of sit-on tractors for the younger ones, some hula hoops, and a swing all to play with - we enjoyed the swing ball. Plenty of picnic benches and straw bales to sit on if you wanted to take a picnic, or a cafe selling drinks and food if you wanted to buy when you are there. The mini maize was surprisingly bigger than we had expected! We enjoyed finding the nests in the mini maize, and birds in the main maize, hidden at various places. It was dry when we visited but you'd definitely need wellies if it had been recently raining. It took us about 1.5-2 hours to complete both maizes.
My daughter then had fun painting a wooden owl decoration - prices for that were extra but very reasonable. We picked our own Sunflowers from the sunflower field - and borrowed secateurs to cut them. There was an extra cost for this too but again reasonable - Β£5 for 7 stems. Overall we all enjoyed ourselves and I would recommend to those with children that are...
Β Β Β Read moreAbsolutely loved it here, plenty for the kids to do including climbing and running on the hay bales, sand pits, peddle tractor area, swing and loads more little mini games under a marque tent which gave a much needed shady area. We started off in the smaller turtle shaped maze which took approx 20 mins but could be done much quicker but we just let the kids lead the way, we then went into the larger whale shaped maze which took approx 1 hour but was great fun. Each maze has a number of clues that are marked on the maps which you're given when you first come in and you mark them off by sticking stickers on the card, the turtle maze has sea animal clues and you have to find the odd one out which doesn't have a clue in the maze. The whale maze has pollution clues and you cover letters on your card with stickers and guess the name of the most endangered whale with the letters you're left with. The kids absolutely loved this, using the maps and stickers which kept them interested on the very long walk. There is a large strip of wild flowers which look stunning There are onsite toilets which also provided eco wipes which was a nice touch. Onsite coffee stand which tasted like proper baristo coffee. Small marque as you enter with gifts and toys for sale. Sunflowers are extra and cost Β£5 for 7 stems which I thought was reasonable. Large carpark which is on grass and very bumpy so wheelchairs, pushchairs may...

We contacted LMM before booking due to having questions, and the responses were both polite and extremely helpful. Thoughtout the booking process we had further questions and every one we put forward was met with the same level of professionalism and courtesy.
On the day of the event all the staff were brilliant. From the eldest to the youngest. They were kind, courteous and just went out of the way to make you feel welcome. They talked us through everything and even gave up hints and tips about how best to tackle the event. We have and all-terrain wheelchair and it didn't struggle in the slightest to get round. The pumpkin patch is a lovely quiet corner and the variety is brilliant. The mazes are well created and offer mini-challenges as you walk around (they do provide maps - which you'll definitely need!). The central area offers plenty of space and seating, and you have to see the pumpkin house!
If I could give more than five stars, I would. We had an exceptional time, and actually spent a good chunk of the day there, most of which was down to the staff making us feel welcome from before we'd even booked the tickets!
We'll be back again next year! Keep up...
